thats actually me just lashing out. AXIS is a sick mag and i hope it doesn't die and this is a rumor. There were some sick, different shots and the writing was Powder caliber. They also had a lot of cool insider shit. bynner

The layout was in no way unproffesional or shitty, it has one of the best and unique layouts(having the photo gallery first) that I have ever seen, and they weren't tools and had chevy ads in there mags. Axis is the best sports magazine i have read/seen and it will be greatly missed.

It was better than freeze, and it had the best pictures of any magazine...my all time favorite picture is in the Pep/tanner issue, the shot of the set-up for the urban hit is the best shot i have seen in a ski magazine, and the lifestyle section in the back is so cool, just what skiing magazines need. Axis should be what all other magazines look to for a model magazine, and it will only grow when skiing grows.

 
4 or 5 months ago they were just giving axis mags away at my ski shop.

i love axis, even though it was so short, the content was so much better than other ski mags, and the pictures were dope, i liked how they had random facts on the side of the page too

the best was when they had the teams, like team switch and team backcountry or something, and candide was in like every single one

I've tried really hard to get my hands on a mag but couldn't ever find one! They dont sell ANYWHERE around here, and you cant buy them online. It's ashame, that magazine sounded awesome.

i was able to pick up a copy while in whistler earlier this year. it's impossible to find them out where i live cause there are not that many hardcore ski shops...

its a great mag and if this is true, then it would be sorely missed. if they needed money to get back up again, be sure to give me a call

it wasnt too short, they cut out all the bullshit and had unique and creative photography of grade A talent. Count how many pages in freeze you actually look at, read or pay attention to and it is surly not much different than the # of pages in axis, which are all flawless.

 
i just bought one and i have everyone for the year whicch i think is around 2. it was a GREAT mag and i really enjoyed reading it. i liked also how there letters to the editor were from ns. Its too bad, too bad

Being out there skiing every day, good or bad, just playing around with friends, with no contests or filming- that is the real spirit of skiing for me. that is why i started skiing, and if i lose those moments that is what will make me stop skiing.
 
yes axis is/was a great mag, i've had a few, (still kept the first one, which was when the interviewed the 9 most influential style creators) and still love it. But axis have themselves to balme a bit here aswell, i mean, even in this thread there are people saying how they can't get one, you can't subscribe, you can't get it off the net, and basically, they're just very hard to find, (outside major ski areas,) and its true that most ski mags are bought from places where they arn't right on snow, eg, LA, Mammoth, etc etc... SO yes although axis is a sick mag and its sad to see it go, they can't JUST say it was the general public that made it this way...

the best idea ever was the one that was diabolicly hatched today at lunch in the hall way of my school. It involved a boat and beer and selling that beer to 14 yearolds for like $3 a bottel, so that way from every 24 we got, we would get 12 and then never have to pay for our own beer again. and if the poilice tried to stop us, we were drive away in a boat (which doesnt have a licence plate) but, if there were on a baot, we were throw peanuts at them, cause its highly probable that one of them in alergic to then and he would go into anaphletic shock and we were get away. if that didnt work we were catapult cows at them and wait for the headlines 'police boat sunk by flying cows'. --Apple.
 
i by mine in a borders and there isnt anywhere near a major ski ressort. i was reading the last page of the spring issue and it said the last issue of the year. too bad its the last one ever.

the only reason i never bought it was becasue it was so short...i always whipped right through ti and read everything too quick. i think the best mag out there right now is SBC Skier...so sick and its big too

I have the first issue that came with Powder, such a good mag, it had a bunch of pro interviews with all the greats like olsson, cusson, auclair, and it had an article on pollard and belanger getting voted as most stylish riders that year. The magazine skips the crap, has a very good feel to it

 
its shortness was made up with the fact that it had some of the most original and interesting articles written on skiing. Thats a shame, Matt Lev did a really good job with Axis. I think poor circulation (everywhere it was near impossible to find) had a major part in it. If more people could have found it, it would have been a hit, thats my opinion

Man, axis was an awesome magazine even though it was a little too short, i bet with more time it would have gotten much longer, that sucks that it went out of buisness. It was the most newschool magazine out there

axis was so short because they didnt put in a bunch of nonsense in their mag. it was pure and artistic and really interesting. i've been able to get every issue too, just wish they would have had a subsribtion for it. too bad.
