Awful smelling mittens

My mitts smell like absolute shit. Admittedly after 2 and a half years, this happens.

Every day I'l throw them on the heater to dry them out, throw em in the washing machine every so often, but still. they reek, and my hand smell like shit for hours afterwards no matter how often i wash them.

Help. Trying not to ruin the next pair like this.
 
Sink the stink...we use it on our rental gear for whitewater rafting. Its expensive but works. Its got little creatures in it that eat the stinky bad little creatures that now live in your old mitts.
 
Just get new ones at this point. Seriously, they are over two years old, you have gotten your money's worth out of them
 
If the liner is synthetic, just throw them out. Once a synthetic gets smelly, it's smelly. There's a reason nobody owns old Lifa base layers.

Make sure your hands are clean every morning when you ski. And then dry them completely after you ski in them. It doesn't need to be on a heater, just have air moving through them, and they'll still dry out. Leave them on the dryer until you go skiing again.
 
it might be too late for these mitts but in the future weve found if you turn then inside out after youre done using them and let them dry that way they air out better.
 
my method is just to spray the shit out of the insides of the mitt with axe, then throw em somewhere. works for a few minutes.

But I just figure your gear is supposed to reek anyway
 
They're undoubtedly a lost cause. I'm just trying to get the most bang for the buck. Can't hate a guy for that.

i think theres pee in your sweat so thats where the smell comes from,

as soon as your done with em, put them on top of a fan so the air flows into the mitt

don't let the sweat freely dry into the mitten anymore

i feel ur pain though, no matter what my hands and gloves are always dank and smelly
