Awful, awful winter.

Woooo Schweitzer (#9)!!!

For a time in December we also held the top spot for most open terrain in the country.

The lack of snow at Squaw is actually almost sickening. The only benefit to this poor winter is that Tioga Pass still hasn't closed so I can get to Mammoth in under four hours.

i dont know what that looks like when there is snow but i can tell something is very wrong with that picture. looks like a east coast mountain damn

this is definitely not accurate - Mt Washington, BC has a reported 209cm snow base which is roughly 82" That being said, the snow we do have is crazy inconsistent and sketchy. Lets pray there's tons more season to be had.

My mountains started with a boat load of snow in early November and opend mid November. Now for the past half month its just been rain and barely any new snow. In Vanouver

could be worse. I skied top to bottom 3k vert of pow today and got some sweet pillows. yeah it's low tide, but the people bitching around where I am are stuck on chairs.

My mountain is struggling. Hard. There is just no snow and the only base we have is bulletproof and man made. We have only had three substantial snow falls. And by substantial I mean more than an inch.

I feel bad for all my homies out West, had to postpone my late Jan trip until it snows a bit more. At this point it's pretty much business as usual here in the Northeast though. Definitely a slow start, but snowmaking has been blazing away this week and there's tons of rails to slide, so no complaints here. I guess after years of Eastcoast skiing, lack of snow and plentiful rain storms don't phase me anymore, builds character.

No, that's right... keep the faith cause a couple of big dumps and things are good again. Hell, just 2 weeks ago the Okanagan mountains were barren wastelands and they're doing fine now.

we were closed yesterday due to high winds and heavy rains. that happens a few times every season. back open today though.

Yah it deffinetly hasnt been anything great but there are some mts that have done it right and are enjoyable. if your on the east it doesnt make sense to go as far NORTH as you can because even jay and canada hasnt been getting much snow but if you go fearther west twards stratton, stow or even killington its not too shabby. The trick is to be happy to be skiing

Europe is getting shat on!!

Tignes and val d'isere has had to close roads in and out because of too much snow and avalanche risks. Scotland's resorts are all open i believe too.

looks like everyone is having an East Coast winter- enjoy it- it puts hair on your chest and you'll enjoy pow more when you get some
