Awesomest Types of Dogs

"The Ridgeback breed was bred by white settlers within land that was predominantly habituated by black people. The breed had been used to protect land and property and at times poach. Within the breeds existence could it innately have developed a conditioning to behave differently toward black people."

you know ive always cursed my step dad for hating dogs so much that i could never have one as a kid. Ive always really wanted to get either a malamute, a husky, or a somoyed, hopefully i will at some point but i feel like im gunna be completely clueless of how to care for a dog. From what ive read too theyre not exactly the easiest dogs to train and what not either.

I just adopted a German Shepherd pup a couple months ago and she's very loyal, smart, and easy to train. I love this dog to death! German Shepherds are great dogs. And besides, how can you not love those ears? haha

^not my dog, i don't have any pictures of sophie (my girl) uploaded but she is the best. we skijor together, it's actually more fun than downhill skiing IMO

anyone else skijor with their dogs?

she didnt win unfortunatly, but she did place in her competition she did a month ago at 50 and the oldest competitor

Cant post picture because im on mobile. But i used to have a norweigan elkhound. She was kicked by a horse making her leg become virtually detached. And she died :( bet dog ever

got myself one of these, looks a lot better then the pic thoughalso have a great dane and a romanian sheaperd which are all huge dogs and then got a tiny english cocker spaniel

my neighbours at my cottage have 2 viszlas and they will swim with us and hang on the beach for hours. awesome dogs

We had a marama while I was in grade school. Super loyal, smart and could just tell when you needed some loving. Good sized dogs. Not the most friendly to strangers though. We lived on a farm so Luigi wasn't very accustomed to having people come around too often. They are Italian sheep guard dogs and very protective of their flock. He didn't exactly get along with our sheep so our family/ house became his flock. I loved that dog to death.

I like longer hair dogs medium to large sized dogs that are lean. So I was thinking of getting either an Alaskan Husky or a Siberian Husky. I've read they don't do so hot alone and will get into trouble is left to their own devices for too long. so I'd be worried about leaving for work and coming home to a messed up house. Not sure if having two would make things better? Anyway I like border collies as well for the same reasons. they seems pretty wound up though and never really grow out of their puppy years. lots of energy and always wanting to play. Boxers seem like pretty cool dogs but I want something I can have outside for long periods in northern MN.

If you really want a husky and are worried about leaving them alone you could always have a section of the house designated for them to be alone. That way they if they were to wreak havoc it would only be in a small part of the house.

i had a golden retriefer husky mix named lady for a few months last year but gace it away

she was pretty sick

my frineds just got a rotweiller mixed with a chow chow

super cure

labs fo sho. pretty much any activity, they are down for. boating, hiking, folf, skiing, chillin at the lake, you name it. they dont get too cold in the winter. they can swim like none other, smart as fuck (though also goofy as fuck), huge personalities, super loyal, social, always want to please. plus they just look awesome. my black lab is actually a panther.

hey man i really want to get a malamute, but online it says that they like to explore... do you let your dog off the leash and let her do her own thing? Im asking this cause when i go out side i take my dog and she will explore all around cause i have a large neighborhood, but when i call she always comes back.

Pitbulls, I know its cliche to say but they really are the most misunderstood breed of dog. I have one but it was runt of her litter. But she is the sweetest dog there is, good with kids, has never hurt anyone, and is good with other dogs as long as they arent walking by the house haha... but what dog doesnt go nuts. Oh and I have never met a smarter dog than her, seriously think she is half human. Seems to comprehend everything that goes on in the house and anything we say to her in some way. you just have to treat them right and they are they best.

I have a neighbor who has one, and although I know there's allways exceptions it is truly the most mean aggressive dog I have ever seen, it has attacked humans and other dogs.

So I am biased to not liking them

it's the owner not the breed. granted there is a tendency and a gene of pitbulls being more aggressive, but if the owner is great it should not matter.
