Does anyone have an avy beacon that they don't use anymore and are looking to sell...I need one for this season...or any suggestions of what kind to get?

orovox are pretty good.. just anyone with both transmitting and recieving so you can find people or can be found. also if you havent done so already, take a class on avalanches, youll gain more respect.

Does anyone have an old or broken beacon that they want to get rid of or sell for really cheap? I would like to fix one up, and eventually make my own. Thanks.

You should belive everything you read on the internet, it's all true.
 
Yeah I've seen those Ortovox beacons, they're pretty sweet. And all avy beacons have send and receive on them, I think, so no need to worry about that. I can't decide between analog or digital though...i'm thinking digital, I think it has a farther range? Anyone know?

I'd like to take a class as well, I read the book 'Snow Sense', it was good information, but lots of it, I'd probably do better taking a class and interacting instead of reading about it.
