why do you guys hate her so much? i'm not a fan of hers, but i wouldn't go so far as to say i hate her. in the absence of pop music, there would be no underground. you can make the conscience choice to not support her or her music.. no problem.. but i think it's somewhat harsh to say that you hate her simply because she has achieved international acclaim.

 
she achieved international acclaim by being a product of a record company. there's only the underground scene, because of record companys trying to buy people. the bands of the underground don't want to be part of a record deal, which promotes shitty music, with a commercialized image. Avril Lavigne created a whole new trend for teens, which upsets me, because teens are insecure, and rely on celebrities to tell them what to do. And yet, Avril didn't dress 'skater-punk' until she was signed onto the record label....how can you possibly support someone, who makes money, being someone else?? music is essentially art...and i personally am not going to listen to someone who uses other people to tell them how to express themselves, there's something wrong with that.

from the few replies that I did read, I'm going to get ripped on for this. she was good live, the time I saw her. she has a good voice. but no experience, therefore no stage presence at all. and I can't say much for her songs.
