there was an avy at the basin today killing one person. there was also an avy at buffalo mtn. (above silverthorn) traping one person. please be careful

safty first, keep it real and stay positive

if you go to abasin youll see at least 5 different slides. its crazy

none of the news says it but i think that although he was technically inbounds, he cut under the ropes which they had just roped off that run due to avalanche danger

not true...the run was open and checked earlier that morning....he was just skiing when the slide went on 1st alley

no that was what they had originally stated when it first happened but later reports stated that it was infact roped off. I think they are still investigating it though. I talked to a ski patrol from abasin and he said that it was closed off but i'm not sure.

i talked to them as well....the run was open...the patrollers did there daily checks, and decided it could be opened....they even interviewed a skiier that went down the run 30 seconds or so before the slide was triggered...and the run was open
