Auto or stick?

I'm getting a new truck, I've never driving stick as an everyday driver, but I'm thinking about it for gas mileage.

My first two trucks were sticks and after living between LA and San Diego and dealing with traffic, I was super happy that my new truck is an auto...so nice in traffic and heading up to the mtns not to have to shift all the time.

I've been driving a stick everyday for over a month now and I have no complaints. It's a lot of fun ripping through the gears. Traffic generally isn't too bad.

aight, you save 1000$ right off the bat at least, then you save gas milage, your car/ truck will be faster, it will also be lighter and ppl will respect you for driving standard. Furthermore, everyone should know standard, cuz you never know when you may need to drive a satandard car perhaps in an emergency.

I am certianly leaning towards stick, my worries really are from the inconvience of having to shift, I go to school in southern california, but only have a year left.

 
After a while, it becomes totally natural and you won't even think about it. I drove my moms car today and I kept reaching to press in the clutch...but there was none!

yeah ive never driven an automatic in my life. i like standards but idk if i would living it in la. if the traffic is you bad you will rarly go far without shifting. but i live in the country so i never have traffic and the highway never gets baccked up. and its fun to be able to down shift for more power on all the hills and shit.

 
i drive a 5 speed subaru. FUN CAR. (piece of shit 1.8 engine in it, but it gets me where i need to be)

go stick, it's better for your driving if you understand what the car is doing.

stick definatley. automatics get too boring. stop and go traffic is a pain in the ass though

i drive a 5 speed v dub beetle. it's pretty good most of the time, except for being stuck in traffic. eh i would definitely go with stick

go with an automatic. it's way easier. i can talk on the phone, eat in-n-out, and drive all at the same time. can't do that with a stick now can you?

 
i hate people that talk on the phone wothout an earpiece while driving, they do hella stupid shit, and eating while driving is NO GOOD.

i drive an auto much to my dismay, but the fast rides in he family are both sticks, so whenever i actually "need" a stick i have one.

fuck an automatic. i would rather be in a coma. driving an automatic is the most boring thing ever. also, i think that i have a tendency to speed more in an automatic.

My first car I had was stick. It is good to know how to use it in case you ever need to but personally I like to drive automatic, lay back and you got nothing to worry about.

stick is fun to drive, but i like auto cause you can do so much more stuff while driving, like eating, talking on cell phones, etc... and the stick gets in the way if you're trying to get with a girl in the car...

Sticks are super fun, and you always know when it's going to shift. Like when you're passing someone, you stomp on the gas and there's a couple seconds delay before it downshifts. With a stick, you're in control and you know what's going on. Plus they're a helluva lot more fun and cheaper and you dont look like a pussy.

i personally like driving automatics. i can drive both, but driving a stick just makes me think to hard and you gotta concentrate too much. plus... once.. i stalled 3 times at one redlight. haha....

how about a jib for the mentally unstable aswell. maybe a picture of a kid with down syndrome on a box - anathema
 
stalling it sucks but it just becomes natural. i have driven stick for about a year and a half and i dont have to think about it at all. also, you can press gas and clutch with right foot, use left leg to stear the wheel, shift with right hand, and you have a left hand for whatever else yo might be doing

^mite jsut be me but id like to go faster in a car so thats y id get stick, n the reason they go faster is u control exactly wen the gears change instead of the car so they set it on a slower settings n safer ones n wen u do it theres a chance ul totally screw up n mess ur car up real bad

 
ya i can see plus' and minus' for both stick and auto....auto is usually a bitch on gas and with todays high gas cost it would be wise to think about that. not to mention the retarded cost of insurance. get a stick...that way u arent one of those retards that do 100 things while driving and are all over the road(unless u can do everything at once while driving in that case forget about it) OR screw it and get a truck so that u can through all your lard into the bed and forget about it.....i personally would most likley just go for the truck....besides room and being automatic, it will handle better in wet/snowy conditions which=less crashes=less $$$=:)
