Autistic kid kills it on the basketball court

why would he feel like a dick? no hate here but i dunno i dont think he would, the kid only wanted to be a manager for the other years and so he asked him if he could sit on the side line at the game, and then putting him in, even tho its true he did waste a huge talent, no1 had any idea how good he was, thing is tho i doubt he woulda done the same thing all the other games cause the other team woulda known about him and had him covered pretty good but who knows

i came in at the end and just heard about it and still got all tingly, then i watched the whole thing and almost cried. but ya if he had been playing all season

Would you pay this kind of respect to a guy who did the same thing if he wasnt Autistic? Obviously what he did was awesome but any ill kid just wants to be considered normal. I feel most of you are just saying that made me feel tingly etc because you don't want to be seen to speak bad of a kid who is unlucky in what hes been given?

i knew some moron would try to say something like that. actually, the fact that he's autistic does it make it cool, because he obviously wasn't given the chance to play, but in this case he was...and he excels. what's wrong with praising him for it?

and what are you trying to insinuate? that we normally make fun of kids with autism? no. i doubt anyone who just posted has or ever would.

theres a kid at my school who is Autistic and he snowbords and he is better than most snowborders i know he can do rails and boxes and stuff. its awazing that alot of people think that mentaly challenged people cant do normal stuff as well as other people when in alot of cases there do it just as well or better than other people.

disappointing the society we live in today.. he did just as well if not better than their star player. some people get chances, some don't. it just seems so cruel.

no doubt this is an amazing story and inspiring. But I dont think he could do it a consistant basis, and Im curious if the other team was guarding him tightly.

But i'm guessing he loved being a coach to the team to, and his love for the game might have been lost had he been played in a less successful game.

Theres a kid on my highschool track that had something like autism, but not quite he's the only person with it in north america.

He is an amazing runner, he would destroyed kids his age in the 200m. But he really didnt like running, the only reason he kept doing it was because he wanted to go to the track party.

But this is a truely touching story, and the kid should be extremely proud.
