I am taking a weeklong trip to austria to ski this febuary. I am also in the market for a new pair of skis and was wondering what i should be getting for a trip such as that. I want twin tip cause i do park and i also ski on the east coast for the rest of the year. Give me some suggestions so i can have an easier time choosing... thanks a lot

what kinda skiiing d'ya like to do? good chance of pow in feb, so i'd hit up a good big mtn resort.

mayrhofen

innsbruck

lech

st anton

these are like the biggest resorts in austria

as for skis, i guess you'll want something that can deal with big mountain and ec, so...

size? ability?

I'm not sure about the season like in Jan-Feb, but I heard some places kinda sucked the last season or so.

Back on topic.

If I was you, I'd just pick up some rental/demo skis over there. Don't bring an East Coast ski to go rip big mountains in the Alps.

You won't have to deal with lugging them along, and you'll have a more enjoyable skiing experience on something more geared towards the terrain.

i wouldnt buy skis there in austria if you normally ski east coast, you wouldnt get enough use out of them to make them economically viable.

the rental shops are pretty good in europe, you can order exactly which ski you want and being in feb time they should be in good condition. Intersport tends to be the best rental shop

Exactly.

Rent or demo skis over there. Don't buy a ski for the East Coast and then take it to Europe.
