I don't know how much Aussie music you get over there, but you should listen out for:

Powderfinger

The Whitlams

George

They're really good (in my opinion anyway!) and you should keep a lookout for them.

Shihad (aka Pacifier) are probaly the NZ band that will most likely get any air time in the states.

Of course they had to change there name from Shihad to Pacifier because the Americans couldn't tell the difference between Shihad and Jihad.

there is so much good aussie stuff if you look for it.

Silverchair were sick around the frogstomp/freakshow era. by the time Diarama came around it was obvious they were finished

 
I wouldn't say they were finished. They're earlier albums were their best, but Diorama has some good songs, it's just different.

My favorite album would be Neon Ballroom though. The songwriting was way better than in the first two albums Silverchair recorded.

 
silverchair used to be my favourite band. it was eggciting. one time i almost got to see them too, i bought tickets to the show, then they cancelled because of the lead singer's (daniel?) arthritis or something.

You all need to listen to John Butler Trio (fucking siiick), the beautiful girls and xavier rudd.

These bands are amazing. Real chill.
