ok it's nearing that time of year when the Souht of Australia begins to open the mountains to skiing (June - Julyish), just wondering who is coming down to Australia for a lovely winter.

I myself will be at perisher from the 20th september to the 27 september and trying to get better at skiing...it'll be cooler becasue it's a school snow trip and i get to watch half my friends who have never seen the snow and believe snowboarding is cooler and easier fall flat on there arses :D

Anyway just wondering who is gearing up for the season down here.

btw if anyone lives in the brisbane area Snowcentral at 7 Dallas Parade, Keperra, is having a sale this weekend, so gear will be marked down from like 20% - 50% off
 
Yeah I'm in Sydney..fingers crossed for a decent season - i'll probably be down mid-late July with Uni
 
Falls Creek again this season, it's gonna be on!!!! Want to head up to Jindi to check out perisher too.

Two summers ago I spent two months in Australia, my family lives in Melbourne and my dad grew up on Philip Island. I've been wanting to go down this summer, but moneyyyyyy
 
i was born in adelaide, moved to US.

i'll be in Brisbane for all july though. May or may not ski perisher during that month, and if i do they best have some demo twin tips or something.
 
I am in Perth right now, obviously not skiing (ugh) but enjoying the nice weather. I'm going to Adelaide soon and then Melbourne and Sydney as well, than to NZ for a while. Anyone wanna chill?
 
we be hitting up falls creek... cant wait..... im sure the park is gonna be off the chain as usual! and maybe a few day trips to buller...... and hotham as much as i can! its gonna be a good season... i can feel it...

 
do you live in perth mate or just travelling through? i thought i was the only bloke on this website from perth!!! would be awesome to meet a few more passionate skiiers from the area
 
I'd love to go to the school in Jindy, the ski instructor we got put with last year had a son that went there and they get like fridays off jsut to go skiing...lucky buggers

Can't wait till September, gonna get a lot better in the park...

Uh Australia has pretty nice parks...well from how i view them anyway, i think there's 4 Parks at perisher, 1 being a beginner, the rest more advanced and a half pipe. I liked the ones Perisher had last year though :)
 
Well the passionate skier is for sure but I was just traveling through Perth. Shoulda hit me up then, but now I am in Victoria, just traveling throughout though. I'm in Melbourne next right now in Port Fairry right now. BUT! Ill be in Byron Bay for 10 days anyone there who wants to chill? Also ripping a tiny bit in NZ soon.
 
Yeah I will be working at Perisher Blue or Falls this winter, havnt made up my mind which one yet.. probably PB tho

byron is a fucking joke, spent two months there on my gap year, so much fun. its home to the worlds shittest club, Cheeky Monkeys but that place is a laugh. Nimbin def worth a visit
 
yeah mate, i just got my hands on my season pass so i'll be hitting Perisher most wknds and about 3 full weeks, so drop us a line and we'll defo hook up.

Perisher Blue does alright with what they've got though. awesome pipe...Falls Creek aint bad either.
 
I live in Melb, so ill be going to Buller most weekends, then heading to NZ for a week in August.

At the begining on 2010 i want to move to the US to work as i would have finished uni and done 2 years work in the property industry so i want to move to the US where there is (or will be) more $$$ and more SNOW!!!!!!!

 
What part of property? I've worked in agency for about 6 years and did 3/4 of a degree in Property Economics
 
Working for Jones Lang LaSalle doing their grad program at the moment, was in agency but just moved into corporate solutions.

yea im in syd, gonna get down to thredbo as much as possible. organised a trip for mid aug, hopefully that wont be an interschools week so i skip the crowds.

I wouldnt hire from perisher.....DOnt think they have demo twinnies.

Look up rhythm sports in cooma..... its like 45mins to and hour away from jindy (depending on how fast u drive) Phone them up like a week in advance and book a set.. they will rent you any twin tip you ask that they carry in there retail section, like suspects or pipe cleaners..... look on there site www.rhythm.net.au. Last time i used them was the 06 season since then ive had my own skis... but it was cheap.

As for the season il be down there multiple times. prob twice in august and once in september. Il be on my pipe cleaners unless it snows a shitload when il be out somewhere on my jj's lol. prob over the back of the summit chair or out over the back of mt perisher.

 
Ill be there in 2 years...

planning on studying abroad at melbourne uni in 2010. should be sick. def planning on going to NZ too

 
I have a feeling Melbourne uni is possibly the best uni in Australia (#1 is definitely in Melbourne)
 
Well ive taken the job at PB, i'll be a lifty on Mt Perisher when it finally snows....

I will keep an eye out for any NS stickers!

Also the little snow on the ground is all from snowmaking. As u can prob tell from the distribution....THe T-bar on the right will be open to tower three this friday... and there also building a small park YAY somewhere there as well for opening day tomorrow.
 
There really is fuck all snow... what i joke.. i want to ski soo bad.

nz's been getting all the snow. anouther load coming this w.e. ur season may come right dont worry, but im sure glad 2 b over here
 
Lol. I like how there is still more snow at Squaw Valley in Tahoe than there is at Perisher blue...

seriously about to go ape shit, I bought a season pass... fucking piece of shit motherfucker think i'm gonna go kick something. My luck, i'll break my foot and it will absolutely bucket down an arse full of snow and i'll be at home...

The only thing thats lookin up is a few weeks in Japan early next year. Guaranteed to be up to my tits in pow!!!
