Audi drivers? Help me out!

The only Subaru I would take over an Audi, would be the WRX STI...what a beast.

Why would you take the Suby over the Audi? Based on reviews and such, the Audi is supposed to handle better, and the new AWD system is pretty kick ass as well

I have had a 2003 A4, 1.8T for about 10,000 miles, and the only thing I have needed to replace was a lightbulb.  I love it to say the least.  It's so comfortable to drive.  It's not the most fun car, but it works perfectly for what I need it for.  I still get 30mpg with the quattro, and it has a ski sack in the back, and the seats are really comfortable.  I also love the stereo, it sounds amazing.  All in all, it's a great car, and I love audi's, and i think they are worth the small mainenance that may occure, but just hope you don't get a lemon and need to start buying big ticket items.

Good luck finding an STI for any form of reasonable price haha, however you could find a WRX.

I would take a Suby for a variety of reasons. Personally, I like the looks more, but that is purely cosmetic. As for the handling and the driving, a suby will drive and handle better, guaranteed. They are built off of rally frames with a 2.0L turbocharged boxer engine. They also have the best AWD system on the market, their lsd's function slightly different than other AWD systems. The WRX is also hell of alot faster than an A4 or an A6. The A4's go 0-60 in around 7-8 seconds, whereas you can push a stock WRX into the low 5's.

As for safety, they are all pretty much the same these days. The WRX does have side impact air bags, but I don't know if the Audi's do or not so I really can't comment on that. I personally think Suby's drive more comfortably, when i have been in my friends A4 I just wasn't that impressed.

yo i just bought a 1995 2.8L A6 for $3500 and it is costing a lot of fucking money to fix it. it is just FWD, not the quattro version. it has 80k miles on it with no rust. it drives great, fast and great on corners. very comfortable. brakes, calipers costed a shit ton. now the power steering hose broke and its costing a few hundred bucks to fix that as well. its pissing me off. however, its so ballin and fun to drive. very smooth. i drove it up to jay peak and back and cruised the whole way. it was great. i passed like 5 cars on the way back. but yeah, if you really want it, get it. but beware, the repair costs will be disappointing at the least. remember they're GERMAN parts and cost a lot. when you go the shop you might as well bend over.

i drive an s4, the gas mileage is ok, but it all depends on how hard u are on the gas haha. maintenance is a pain sometimes, but there are things you can do to prevent those super high costs. The older it gets the more money it will cost. I havent had that many problems with mine, but I had an older 86 cs 5000 and everytime it broke it was a thousand bucks to fix, but then again it had 275k miles on it. The driving pleasure alone is worth it tho

you are such a dumb ass.. thats no jeep compass... its a jeep grand cherokee SRT8! the most ballin jeep out there! it has 425 HP and will beat a suby and evo with stuff done to it! one killed us in my friends EVO with tons a shit done to his evo and the jeep was stock!

back to the real reason of this thread.... audis rock.... but i drive a jeep haha

^ Agreed, the SRT8 is insane...I got in one the other day, not expecting much from a Jeep so I floored it...almost shat myself. As a plus, the sound it makes is SO sick! One of my dream cars for sure.

ya.. i almost bought that silver A4 that i posted that pic of... from my friend but my mom wouldnt let me haha she was just worried i would have to put a ton of stuff into it... that A4 was fast as fuck... it would beat stis it was so sick he had done a ton of shit to it

but i went with the newer 2005 jeep grand cherokee... i love the new body style im looking into a lift right now... i am pretty pumped on it...

i drive an 03 A4 and absolutely love it. it was bought from a dealer, so it came with a great warranty that i've only needed to use once. i get about 30 mpg highway and its such a solid car, handles very well. i know that audis earlier than 03 have been notorious for electrical problems...so that's something to watch out for.

is this car a quattro? because if you're going to be doing much snow driving, i HIGHLY recommend it. audi has won a lot of awards for their quattro.

Almost any european car is going to have insanely high maintenance cost, especially when parts need to be replaced. And with the 2.8L engine that A6 is not exactly going to be an economy car as far as gas goes. My advice is, although you'd look baller driving an Audi, do yourself a favor and go Asian for a car. I would like to suggest a domestic car, but the truth is, they just aren't as good. Although they may not be status cars, Hondas and Toyotas run for a very long time, have great resale values, will generally get better gas mileage than an Audi, have less maintenance to be done, and have cheaper maintenance costs. If you're looking to save money, do not buy an Audi. If your looking for a mid-sized sedan like the A6, I would go with something like an Accord, Camry, or Avalon.

^I was looking into a loaded Accord, Something with leather and all that good stuff. After my civic took so much shit from me and never failed, Honda is looking like a good option...although I was hoping to try a new different brand...

So far; Ford Escort, Ford F-350 7.3L diesel, Honda Civic.

These look nice too;

maintenance will be pricey forsure....its a foreign high end automobile... however the car is awesome....you have all wheell drive....good fuel consumption as long as youre not hitting boost....and a pimp ride that looks cool and gets you the babes.... as long as you change oil and do preventative maintenance it shouldnt be that pricey in the end....another positive note is that you are getting it from Florida...so no rust and cold weather....prolly a good buy

mazda 3s are such sick cars they are decently fast and look sick

and i didnt know that jeep was a srt8 they are so sick but i didnt know they could beet a moded evo.

hmm i don't know. just heard the mazda 6 has awd on some models, didn't bother to inquire which ones have it.

have you tried a subaru legacy wagon? i know i vehemently express my hate over subarus, but i dig the legacy wagon.

ive been sort of diggin them lately as a possible car for me. seeing this, is exactly what i had in mind for a wagon,
