I have a 98 Audi A4 Avant 2.8 Quattro, and was wondering if anyone that has a WRX 02-04 was looking to trade?
If not trade anyone have one to sell? In the 6,000 - 7,000 range?

Dude check craigslist... the odds you finding someone on here who lives anywhere near you is pretty slim...

dont blame ya thats kinda a crappy trade

id maybe trade like a 05 or 06 audi a4 for a 04 wrx

Too right! Personally, I trust Subbies about as far as I can throw them, I really don't get this websites obsession with them. That being said they are great cars when they go (and you can afford to fill them)...

Subies are reliable if you get the right engine. The EJ22, which was in the 95-01 Impreza's, can hit 300k on the reg. The Subaru's turbo, from what I hear, is the most common plague of their legacy.

Haha its funny you say that, a friends TT EJ20 has started having issues with the second turbo. The transmissions in the turbo'd subarus have a bit of a rep too i from what I hear. Yea you're prob right about the NA engines being fairly reliable but then it becomes just a standard 2.0-2.2l engine pushing ~100KW of which there are a tonne of other reliable examples if that makes sense...?

Yeah, but the reliability of the 2.2 coupled with the AWD is what makes it worthwhile. Also, the 2.2 made 142hp and 149lb/ft of torque, which when coupled with a 5 speed speed tranny on a car that only weighs 2800 pounds (98-01 Impreza) isn't too shabby. Throw in a cold air intake and you're golden.

If I could find one with decent miles and no rust, I would buy it straight up.

Yea I guess AWD is a huge must for you guys in snowy parts of the world. I mean my little '98 20v Toyota wagon pushes a claimed 165hp (stock), has a great 6spd trans, drives alright and is reliable as fuck (touch wood haha). Granted its prob got a fair bit less torque as its only a 1.6 but therefore rolls around at 7.5l/100km. Seeing as i barely need AWD I can't see myself choosing a Subbie, I see how this may be different for other people though.

id trade a wrx for an a4, ive driven both, and while the wrx is a little faster, its not alot faster and has a worse powerband. the a4 drives a better, has a better awd system, and a much nicer interior. if it were a manual a4 avant it would make the decision that much easier.
