Okay I feel I should make a little bit less of a dickish statement. I just don't understand why Landis would tune off NS.com, where some off his biggest fans are and get to see his work. It just seems like the reason he posted in his first post seems kinda off? Landis people know you are a super talented guy and they respect your opinion. I can understand that tons and tons of PMs can be ridiculous but there are ways to avoid this, and it seems like a crazy reason to leave the site. I think its obvious that you are one of NS' most excellent contributors and I don't see why you seem so bitter. Sorry to come off like an ass in my previous statement, but of all people to see a post like this from, I never expected it from you.

yeah, I think I understood what your other post was trying to say but that explains it better. most of the threads have been stoked on his work with a few people bashing it. there are always going to be people bashing his work, especially if he makes it big. why run away from those few people when there's more good than bad?

I guess I'm not really sure what the true problem is, and maybe only he knows what it is. either way, he'll be missed.

Yea I don't understand why there is a certain persona or some shit that have to make threads like these. If you "feel" like its too much, then boogie out. It's always about how so and so is seemingly (even indirectly) superior to the shitstorm of NS.

And I also love how instances like this and Jacob's are rediculous; NS built their careers, so time to say "goodbye?'" Fucking stupid.
 
Do ya think he's on right now as a guest reading posts in his farewell thread?? I bet he is, Ns is like black tar internet forums, you just can't give this shit up. Perhaps he has just matured enough to move on to one of those more refined and bigger named ski forums. Either way I think it is kinda funny for a person who has enjoyed so much praise, support, and popularity on a website such as this, to turn his back on helping out kids who are now starting out with questions like I'm sure he was several years ago.

Hey to each their own and I hope this decision moves his life in a positive direction.

I could never post or comment again and I still wouldn't quit NS. This place is a huge wealth of knowledge toward what is going on in the ski industry currently, my bet is he will become a lurking guest.
