Ah ok TLDR; life is hard sack up

Agreed, and I agree with you that new-wave feminism is less about empowerment and more about entitlement.

If you see yourself as the victim you've got limited options, but, for those of us who are confident and capable there's more than a fair amount of opportunity for women out there, you just need to look at things with a different lens.

Victim mentality is a serious problem we are facing as a society. I really don’t know what the next couple years are gonna hold if we keep going down this path.

Cardi B is so brave to create a song Wet Ass Pussy but how fucking dare they put a picture of Aunt Jemima on a syrup bottle. Our society is fucking broken
A bit dodgy here and a bit lipstick on a pig. The world isnt going to function if leftists keep acting like God created a reality that would never hurt anybodys feelings. Thats the crux of it imo. Americans have to put pillows all over everything. Mcdonalds coffee has a big sign on it that says “caution! Coffee is hot!” As if we need to protect the people who would pour it on themselves if they didnt see the sign. Same goes for putting pillows over reality so the sharp edges of reality cant hurt anybodys feelings or pop any balloons.
I think another major problem that stems from this is the fact that people feel the need to sue everyone over everything. Mcdonalds probably does not put those signs there as to coddle those who will pour hot coffee over themselves, but to protect the company from getting sued if someone burns themselves, which is obv a ridiculous thing to do, but is becoming very popular. All this shit finds its way into skiing to, a bunch of mountains around me cant put in half the shit they used to cause the insurance company wont let them. My school stopped doing overnight trips a bit back too cause of this reason, its sad that some of the younger kids like my brother cant experience the same shit we did.

Another example of broken society.

Moving the MLB All star game from Atlanta because of "Suppression of voter rights". Yea so lets rip away tens of millions of dollars of revenue to the city because of "Wokeism". Not to mention a lot of these business are probably suffering immensely from BS Covid restrictions to begin with. How the fuck does taking revenue away from the city help with "Voter rights" LOL

Broken logic once again.

This female prof made a good video talking about how much opportunity there is in america for both men and women.

If you want to really appreciate how much opportunity there is in america, go to somalia. Go to vietnam. Go watch a man in flip flops carry 200 pounds of sulfur on his back from a lung burning sulfur mine to the buyer 12 miles away in order and get paid 50 cents for the 18 hr days work so he can buy a handful of rice to feed himself and his almost starving family.

Its almost crazy how many americans dont have a clue how good they have it compared to most of the people on the planet.

life is good here. Like really good. For both genders.

Didn’t they move it to Colorado, which requires ID to vote and has stricter requirements? I also heard they signed some sort of deal with China, you know, the country basically running concentration camps right now.

For reference another thread. This explanation does not add up. And saying "pretty sure" means "I don't know". Threads don't cumulatively add up and down to the op based on other posts and obviously something is going on. Still funny tho. [tag=256866]@BigPurpleSkiSuit[/tag] here's all your karma lol

I think this is a bug. This thread only has 800 views, and my karma hasn't gone down by 1500 points.

Pretty sure its counting every downvote in the thread, not just the OP.

14271659:HypeBeast said:
So how are there more thumbs down than views? Did op uncover a conspiraski in karma boosting? I think perhaps

14271670:Notaskibum said:
Honestly I'm not sure. Either something is broken or there's a weird formula for adding up votes. Eheaths explaination doesn't make sense, if you scroll through the thread there are a good number of down votes but not 1500 down votes.

14271681:HypeBeast said:
Why not the up votes? Why doesn't this happen on other threads?

14271777:DolansLebensraum said:
Im calling shenanigans. There arent 1500 members who have stopped by to check out nsg in the last week.

either somebody hacked a bitch and hit downvote 1200 times or the mods are trolling us.

Upon further inspection the thread has less than 1200 views and over 1500 downvotes. Shenanigans indeed.

14271782:katrina said:
Eheath explained above it's the sum total of all the down votes in the entire thread not individual down votes on the thread itself.

Not even just Americans, it's privileged people in general. The entitlement seems especially rife due to social media's constant messaging that one has inherent value. I think it is a hard pill to swallow for many that your value as a human is equivalent with what you contribute to the world; many think that they are entitled to both life's necessities and pleasures by virtue of their existence alone.

Might work if you're born into the royal family, but this mindset multiplied by 100s of Millions is going to worsen the already huge deficit in which people consume far more than they contribute

Maybe it has changed, I'm not a dev so I'm just repeating what I've been told in the past.

Just because we have it better here than a third world country doesn't mean everything is fine and dandy, or most people here have a life that they deserve, and we need to " just shut up and be appreciative".

Statistically we're performing a lot worse than other first world nations in many areas and even disregarding that, we have some serious social, political, and economic issues that desperately need to be sorted out regardless of where any other country is at.

If you want to make things better for the most ppl then start by decriminalizing drugs and ending the drug war.

The typical american way is for a divorced dad to give the house, his net worth, and full child custody to the divorced mother and he has to work like a slave to pay alimony so she can shop for 2000$ purses while he eats ramen noodles with spam in some cold shitty apartment....

so pls tell me more about how bad women have it in this colossally fucked up country.

Never said anything about women specifically, I just hate the general mentality of "we still have it way better than third world countries so stop complaining". What you said in this post isn't wrong though.

Fair enough. The way i look at it is like the us is this country club. Mexicans want to come to our country club bc 10$ an hour at mcdonalds is a very attractive prospect compared to the options in mexico. But if we really want to extend true country club membership to these immigrants we need to give them healthcare and other gov aid.

im not against letting ppl come to america, i just ask the question “can we sustain this country club if we let everybody in who wants membership? Can we afford it? Can we build the club big enough to accommodate it?”

Its an important question because there are about 3 billion ppl who would choose to come to america if they could. Its mostly mexicans right now bc they are walking distance. But there are a billion africans and a billion asians who would come to america if we let them and gave them a free plane ticket.

so again, the big question is, is the country club still sustainable with 2-3 billion members?
