Hey, im lookin at getting a new jacket for christmas, and i was wondering if any of you guys had any suggestions?

The type of jacket i like is something that isnt too bulky, good waterproof, and something with a good hood preferrably with a visor on it.

Ive been lookin around at some lately, and ive come aross some good looking Ride, Siver, and Foursquare, and Burton.

Also, if you know of any nice puffys that dont get too awful hot and also have a good hood, i'd like you to throw those out as well.

Im really bad at finding stores online where i can buy said items, so if you happen to know any good online shops i could go to get a good, quality jacket, that would be schweet.

pEace.

i really like the siver shit, its very clean and form fitting, mad steezy too, i'd have bought one if i didn't already have a good jacket. i'd recommend the raven jacket, sturtevans have them (you're from the westside right?)

yeah, nothing against siver, cause i think that they have some really steezy stuff, but if you're looking for waterproofing, you're not gonna want to consider their stuff... it isn't that great. i have a sessions jacket right now and its great. just a thought...

I really like Burton and Bonfire's stuff for both style and quality. I won an insulated Bonfire jacket a few weeks back - I really like the convenience of it. All my jackets in the past have just been shells because everyone says a shell and midlayers are more versatile, but insulation is really convenient and fine if you ski in the same conditions most of the time, so consider it.

i have a bonfire, salomon, and an oakley. out of the 3 i like the salomon one the best, its warm, but when i hike and shit it doesent cook me. its a puffy one and its waterproof and has a hood. i got it at gart sports/ sports authority, it nice.

dna and orage also have some sick stuff. check out the orage masters. most of the stuff both these companies make is at least 10000 mm which is really good. jibij does phone orders.

I have K2 and Bonfire softshells. I don't plan on going back to a hardshell anytime soon. The K2 is a little weak. The Bonfire is really good.

I've got a fjallraven shell and a Marker insulated. I know you don't think of stylish when you hear Marker, but this one is actually pretty fuckin' sick. The fjallraven is a Swedish brand that makes pretty tight shit, too.

Hey you're from Pullman cool. I know exactly what kind of conditions you ski in then. I'd say get something with at least 10,000 mm waterproofing and try to get something that is laminated rather than coated. I guess it depends on how much you are willing to spend but I really like Burton stuff. I'd say go with the sheild jacket(just bought it, it's so sick), the 5/3 jacket, the maximus jacket, or the Ronin 2L jacket from Burton. They are all really nice and have good waterproofing. Also take a look at the Diem stuff by K2. It'sThey've got tons of features and 15,000 mm waterproofing at a really good price.

I like dna, although I haven't worn mine out in the elements yet. I have an oakley jacket that was not waterproof in the sleeves but otherwise nice. washed it with nikwax and it has never let water in for two seasons.

siver is not water proof at all. you should go at least 15000 if you really want water proof. 10000 is beginner. goretex is about 20000 but they donot use that system. goretex xcr is even higher. orage has some sick stuff.

I recommend finding a good jacket that is a year old at a ski store or something...a lot cheaper that way, so you dont end up spending 300 dollars on a coat.

We'll have you dead pretty soon.
