Hood and Whistler sound like they are gonna be cancelled... soooo, everyone should come up to the Summer Camp in Alaska... super sick terrain, and a good atmosphere. There are always more snowboarders than skiers, and now we have a chance to change that...

they are in the process of updating it for 2005 right now.. so keep on checking..

Its way more laid back than all the other camps, you can ride by yourself, with a group, or whatever... Its well worth the money, and its a ton of fun.... you can learn alot.. message me if you have any other questions.

 
Sounds really gnar. As sad as I am to say it, I think that summer camp in the lower North America might be shitty shitty bang bang this summer. I want to go to Alaska, t'would be so fun but Im scared.

seriously, this camp is SO fucking sick. you just go up and hit whatever you want, just totally relaxed its a shitload of fun. everyone is super chill, well worth the money, great weather, GET FEATURES, awesome set ups, like urban style rails and everything, HUGE jumps, super progressive, plus zach davison is there and he ski with his shirt off, i had a boner for 5 and a half days after that. EVERYONE SHOULD COME!

yes, camps are sick. i have never been, but i bet they would help with the skills. hmm...maybe i should be going then. damn i wish the dinero.

well if its 30 hours from vancouver then i'd put it at about 50 hours from tahoe. 5 days of driving? sounds good to me

there are numerous hotels and b+bs all around... you kinda just gotta ask around... call the number on the website and ask them if anyone is renting out or anything... or just get the lodging deal...

its a camp for skiers as well.. would i be writing any of this if it werent?

 
yeah, there are PLENTY of places to stay, and i'm sure if you want you could rent out a sick condo or house in girdwood and have a fucking ass kick time. Also, you can get CHEAP ass plane tickets if you get them now, which i highly recommend. and if you don't mind flying red eye you can get even cheaper fares. just do a little research and come to summer camp in alaska. YOU CAN SKI ALL DAY AND LONG INTO THE NIGHT BECAUSE THE SUN DOESN"T GO DOWN!

It's 1,400km of road from where I am, and where I am is around 1,400km of road to Vancouver, so from Vancouver to Anchorage would be a long trip but people can totally make it. Only 2 days to my city on a long scenic drive, then 2 days to Anchorage, do it.

haha my camp homie? i dont even get PAID.. purely volunteer... just trying to help out the ski community, and give you guys a cheaper option than whistler... believe me, i know what its like trying to ski and travel with a tight budget. alaska is WELL worth your money...

All that there is on the site is a snowboard session. Is it the same price for the ski season? Where is there more info on the skiing stuff, I'm interested!

 
its getting updated as we speak... but bottom line is that its all the same price, they dont care if you have one board on your feet or two... just come and shralp...

 
the snows a little deeper this year than it was last year but you could ski to the lift until the last day of the last session anyway. really fun.

i've driven to alaska from southern california... that is a 6 day drive that i'd rather not repeat....

Zaackckcy I can't come this year and Im sooooo dissapointed. I'm visiting my uncle in California instead.

By the way, even if you don't want to pay for a hotel, I wouldn't be suprised if you just went up to some fellow skier at the camp and asked if you could stay at their house. Girdwood is such a friendly town!

i dont know why everyones tripping on driving time...i doubt most of you would drive to hood or whistler...youd fly, just the same as you will do to boarderline. as for lodging, if you do decide to go you should collaberate with your homies and rent a house in girdwood for the week. spilt that shit ten ways and your on cloud nine. bam.

isnt the drive from vancouver faster if you take a ferry from Prince Rupert or something instead of going thru the rockies and the mile houses? And damn I wish I could go but fuck im not here this summer, sounds like a sick deal

Don't book your plain tickets to AK quite yet little campers. I was in Windells area yesterday snow farming and got enough pushed around for a decent pipe. Planning on going up again with Flood tomorrow and given'er another 10 hours. We will make it happen no matter what the weather does. And it's dumping up here right now. Tell all your homies hood will go off as usual at least through july.
