THIS GOES TO EVERYONE:

Please people! look at yourselves! What happened? I remember when I first signed on, everyone had debates like these, but listen to you guys! You are getting SO VOLATILE! Simmer.

I have to say, and Im sorry to do so, but fakiedropparren, when you voice an opinion that doesnt quite fit with someone elses, you tend to get EXTREMELY DEFENSIVE and you get rude and disreagrd everyone else.

The reason everyone likes this forum is it is NOT LIKE FREEZE!! or any other one fopr that matter. We have always been able to have FRIENDLY DEBATES. So I think certain people should stop provoking others when they are being countered or questioned.

Im NOT saying Im eorfect so please no one attack me for this. I just find that lately I dont want to read certain threads because all it is is BITCHING and I think we need to stop.

i agree. i have been on here for about a year and it just recently turned into where if you did something wrong somebody would flame you like no other. it gets really anoying (sp?) when people flame you for the littlest mistakes. just my 2 centavos...

hehe pebbles, was it my post that said 'shut up pebbles' that made you make this thread....if it was, i was just playing around, i tend to pick on you just cuz it makes me goiggle and i thought you knew that anything i say to you that seems mean is a joke.....but obviously not, um.....so sorry for that one and anyone else i've alienated

Yeah, it has started to get bad, but it does seem like people with more posts too, not just newbies. I think I may have even done it once or twice in retaliation recently.

 
yeah word pebs, I can think of quite a few newer dudes who are like that, heck, I hardly even read ski gabber any more.

I think that some of the threads have more hostility and personal attacks than they used to.

BUT, I think that there are still a LOT of quality threads around that make it not so bad.

The biggest difference that I see, is that instead of a conversation going like this:

person a: 'I like socks'

person b: 'I don't like them because they don't fit me'

Conversations are more like this:

person a: 'I like socks'

person b: 'Stocks are dumb and I hate them'

At least they aren't like this:

person a: 'I like socks'

person b: 'You're a &#$%*%#$ moron!! SUCKS SUCK!'

So idealy, the first scenario would rule, and I think NS used to be like this.. but now it's developped more into the second one I think.

Let's just hope we NEVER reach the third!!

LOL....nice harvey.....yah..i totally see that. People aren't 'discussing' things lately....people are kinda tellin other people what to think here and there. I haven't been around all that long to know what it used to be like...but even still...it seems harsher now even since september.

This place still rules though.

i think if people just stay cool, and don't take other peoples opinions personally, it will improve (or at least not get worse)..

 
hehe, Harvey's example was great. I think it partly has to do with there being no snow in many places so people are getting annoyed, but probbly also some other factors too.

Line ski: I only brought that up cause couldnt remember if it was youor not. Sorry;) Also, I said fakies name not because he was getting mad at ME or anything but because most of his replies to the threads I have read are soo hostile.

Harvey: the reason i posted this is because some threads I have read have gotten so close to #3, that I dont feel like reading anymore.

i think one of the problems is, in the example of the switch d-spin/cab misty 900, each side beleaves in their side so strongly (and because there are no definit rules to naming switch tricks yet) that they will never listen to the other side or change their mind. they anilized the trick over and over and over and they see what they want to see...and can't see it any other way.

I agree... I think it's picking up and mellowing out a bit though... There's too many offensive threads. 'kill posers' etc...

I personally think that once we all get back on the snow and start skiing, things will get better.

I am getting really bitchy waiting for things to get going here, and I may have taken that hostility out in the theads on occasion. I apologize for that.

I think we all just gotta hang in together, and once that beautiful white stuff is everywhere in our land, we will be able to mellow out a lot once again.
