For some reason whistler came up with a new insurance policy that states any competitor under the age of 13 will not compete.

After being registered, got a hotel, aplane tickets and everything else, i recieve a call informing me that i have been booted from the compitition and there may not be a way that i can compete.

But they are offering me tickets.

^^If our sponsored I guess you have more chances to get in, just talk to them. I saw Petit again at the top of Harmony, still wearing the green and yellow oakley outfit, but I believe he didnt participate last year, I remember he just came by during the superhit without a bib or anything and threw a phat nine or something.

if insurance is the reason then sean wouldn't be compeating no matter if he was a local, a favorate or a pro. but if he is compeating i really doubt its insurance reasons then that they are keeping people under 13 out. to cut liablity i could see that being a reason (if you show cuts in liablity insurance companies will drop your rates a little for 'controling' posiblity of a loss) and there they could make exceptions to people like sean, but that would be the desion of the risk managment officer at interwest, not the insurance company.

if i was sponsered and under 13, i would be pissed. write them a letter explaining how u planned your trip/booked airfare/payed a lot of money, and ask to either be let in, or reimbursed

Why is it always about insurance, Are they really liable even if an adult signs the waiver upon inscription? There is no gross negligance like if you set up a slalom course offf of a cliff of somthing like that. The participants know what their getting into. If it's only to save some money thats no good, Where are our younger prodigey's gonna get seen & sponsered, ect.
