Attention NS creators : Addition of a member search by Home Mountain

I think it would be really sick if we could search for members by their home mountain. To find friends, meet new friends, ect.

thoughts?

and to the guy who said a sticky for evey ski resort in each state. some states could possibly take up the whole first page of the thread listings
 
This idea has been thrown around for half a decade but until recently people have always shot it down, saying it would make NS too facebook-like. Personally, I think it would be pretty useful for meeting local skiers, especially at smaller mountains.
 
Didn't even think of that. It would take some reworking, but technically I guess you could do a set of stickies within a sticky. But it would essentially require a core rewrite of the forum section of NS. So then it would almost be easier to go all out and build a "find a member" section.
 
I agree with this.

There should be a massive list of resorts when you register and you can add them to your profile if you ski there regularly, like how you can add schools to your Facebook. haha

I honestly think this is a great idea. If you need help creating this list, ask people to submit resort names.

yeah, there was a time when the idea of changing cults to crews came along. there were a number of reasons why that suggestion was made. If I remember right. having a home mountain crew was one of them. With the functionality of the cults with chat and whose online, why not be the first to start a home mountain cult? I think cults offer more functionality. just post up in regionals to build your crew errr cult. Mass messaging is also a powerful tool if you want to get some info out in the form of private messages.
