what do you think about this bike? im thinking about buying it, cu i need something to do this summer. all it needs is a new seat, a graphics kit, and maybe some new plastic, and it will look as good as my friends 2004 RM 125.

it is a piece. I personally don't like 125's either, all their power is in the top end unlike a 250 which will have some good low end. My neighbor took his kx 125 to the dunes and ended up seizing it from just revving it too high due to the lack of bottom end power. I have never really liked suzukis either, to make them handle nimbly I have to sit too far up on the tank and that is uncomfortable. I like yamahas, always have and always will.

im pretty sure RM's are racers, and racers go faster. also if it a race bike then the guyd rove the shit outta it. and if the seat needs repairing nad new plastic then he certainly beat the shit outta it and never kept it in good condition. DONT DO IT!!!!!

It looks good to be such an old bike. RM are used in races yes.. But only 125hp..gah..250 would be perfect, but to powerfull if you havent rode a bike before. seems like a good starting bike

i didnt say it needed new plastic and seat, i just think the way it is now is gay. also, it is a race bike, and i dont care if he drove the shit out of it, cu like i said, im restoring it.

and no the 125 is not horsepower, its the engine size (125 cc) and to all of you who are saying that a 125 is too small, im not that big of a guy (5'10", 135lbs). snd the old bikes move better than the new ones and they look exactly the same except for the side panels

haha sorry, i ment to say cc.

Anyway, if the bike is raped..it is raped, cross bikes are ment to be raped.. I would go for it

i dont know if i should do it or not. i found a 1992 yamaha yz125 that is $1200 with "extra parts".

"Old bikes move better than new ones?"

That has to be one of the stupidest things I've heard in a while.

That bike is a piece, look for a bike from the last decade at least, that is unless you like having broken stuff.

just riding around. mostly at the track, and some at the trail when i go to it.

I would seriously look into a 250, you will get tired of having to wind that thing up all the time if you are going to ride trails.

im not gonna buy it on ebay, if i think its worth it, we are gonna drive to his house on saturday before the auction ends, and pay for it

im not riding trails much at all, maybe like 3 days a year cuz the trail is too far away

i dunno. its just get a new 125. or nothing older than 01. or you can go striaght up ghetto and get a phat 50. thats what im getting either this summer or next cause my friend has a backyard track and big fields and stuff around my hamlet. and i could easily drive it on the road throught own too. itll be tight

what? I've seen a lot of small guys handle a 250. If you said you are not big enough to handle a 450 or 525sx then I would understand..

Anyways, it is your choice. You can really throw a 125 around so that's a plus. If you really don't want a bigger bike at all then that's fine. But if you plan on riding aggressive or fast then you might want to upgrade to the 250 now.

As far as finding good bikes.. have you checked the local buy/sell moto magazines? you can find alot of good deals in those.

if you just want to put around and not do anything seriously then go for it. If you want to rip up the track, get an RMZ 250. 'tis a nice bike.

Thats what i hear all the time, if i get a 125 i will want a 250 a week later.

Just dip your dong in paint and smack your helmet with it.

i think a 125 is plenty. but that bike is a piece man. nothing older than 01 like that dude said. older bikes tend to need lots of shit to run good.

i honestly dont think you would want a 250 a week of a month later, just get good at riding a 125 on a track. i guarantee that you wouldn't get bored with it if you were hitting up track. open feilds would be gay.

i ve been riding dirt bikes for 15 years and would rather not own a bike than buy a used dirt bike. especially a Suzuki. have you ever heard the phrase " you cant shine up a turd"? even if you replace every part on that bike, it is still a 14 year old bike. my advice-if you really want a bike, find a Honda Cr 250. the weight difference between a 125 and 250 is like 10 pounds. you'll get used to the power very quickly. you'll outgrow a 125 fast

if i were you i would go with a 250 just because those bikes are good on the track and great on trails so its really the best of both worlds an plus 125's suck cause there made for racing and the break all the time and they sound as annoying as hell plus if before you get either one though you shopuld go test ride some i think you'll find that you like a 250 better but thast my opinion....but whatever u dont get one off ebay get one from a dealer or a personal sale in your area and try to get a newer one it will last alot longer and you'll get your moneys worth out of it....Peace an good luck

250 would be better, i just started this past summer and i'm moving up to a 250 or 300, the 125 is too pussy ass slow... granted its a 4 stroke so i'm moving up... a nice thing about 125 though is that they're easy to move around, i can put it on my shoulder if i needed to its only like 175lbs dry, so its real easy to throw around... you dont need to be that big to handle a 250, usually if you are good at riding and have good balance ur better at bigger bikes, you dont need to be that strong to ride a 250, i know a kid thats like 5'8 130lbs and rides 500s

have a fun time trying to put 04 plastics on a 91 frame. for some reason i dont think thats gonna work. my brother bought a bike just like that like 8 years ago and it went about 100 yards out of the starting gate first time he rode it and blew the fuck up

1080chubs, no shit the 125 4 stroke is slow. But comparing that to a 125 2 stroke is just stupid, it is not even almost the same.

^ i've riden a stock 125 2 stroke though, and its really just quicker, like more acceleration, there isnt THAT much difference in top end

ok well im not getting that bike. getting too expensive for that year. im buying a KTM 125 SX. 2003, 2200 bucks.

You guys are idiots.

buy a 125 if you want one, doesn't matter how trashed it is. Rebuilding the motor, new plastic, revaling the suspension and whatever you might need won't cost all that much....especially if you find the bike you want. ..

^are you kidding me? An old dirt bike costs a fortune to maintain!! I mean, dirt bikes in general are relatively high maintenance, but an old one is just a money pit.

^ no shit the 4 stroke is a pussy bike, it was the first one i got, i had to learn on something. i'm sure the first time you went skiing you bought skis that are a foot and a half over your head and had no flex. it took about a month for me to totally learn how and for it to get old so i'm stepping up to a 250 2 stroke this summer.
