You waved that plastic made-in-China flag in front of your face to the point where it was acting as a red, white, and blue blindfold behind whose comforting blindness you eagerly cheered sending other people’s children off to kill and be killed in Iraq. I hope those free hot dogs at those sponsored rallies tasted really good, because other people paid for them in blood.

I imagine the reflection in that mirror is looking rather foolish right now. At least it is if you have any self-honesty. And no, I do not feel like being gentle. We who knew the truth of the deception used to start this war tried being gentle. Now, I don’t want you to feel shame. Well, maybe a little shame and humility might be good for you. But what I really think the next step should be is anger. The government you trusted and supported has made total fools of you before the eyes of the world. Also called blinding ignorance, a disease suffered by so many of our darling youth. At some point you have to stop think ing you are the youth, but that their are youth replacing you. If you still feel youthful, and still want to save the world and havent, well fuck that shit, what are you, a manager? a supervisor? well, usually thats all the justification you need, especially if youre married with a kid, but at least you have the support of 2 families when you get married. There are 2 choices in life after 15: Friends or Family.

there is a lot of fucked up stuff in the US right now. there has been for years. The media is going to hell, politics as a whole are fucked up beyond belief, and the country is being run on the wrong principles as a whole. The fact that millions of people are homeless and/or living in absolute poverty and have no way out except to sell drugs and prositution should send a signal. why the hell do we put so much money into iraq, libya, liberia, serbia, and all these other countries where there are problems, when there are problems at home that get almost no money (welfare isn't working fi anyone hadn't noticed). The way the government and most americans view the rest of the world digusts me. they think, 'we're america, we're the best country in the world. What we say and do is right, anyone who disagrees is wrong.' I don't know how you can change that, because far to many people in the country are blind to the world. I've been lucky enough to have teachers who have showed me the other side of things. I've been lucky enough to travel through diffrent places and interact with people form all over the wrold. it's definitly helped my perception of things. the US isn't right all the time. Why should we go in and attack Iraq for not allowing weapons inspectors from the UN to go in and look for WMDs? It's the UN's job. focus on teh problems closer to home.

that's how I see things. there is still so much I love about this country and my home, that it would be hard for me to leave, but there's a lot here that makes me want to.

Well, we are still a fairly new country in terms of comparison. Human society as a whole is also very new. Obviously the system we have right now isn't working very well, but you need to try a lot of different things to work the 'kinks' out. We have yet to find a balance between enviornmental protection and economic well-being. I certainly don't feel everything we do as a country is right but I also don't believe we should follow an isolationist problem. The way I look at it is there will more than likley always be domestic and world-wide problems. Should we let these things stop our progression? The fact of the matter is the large majority of the people are doing well. Only time will tell whether or not our system will fit in on a global scale or not.
