The

U Ski and Snowboard Club is a student group that offers discount season

passes and discounts at local shops for U of U student members. In the

past it was just for snowboarders, but why make a distinction based

solely on the number of boards you strap to your feet? We ride the same

mountains, hit the same jumps, and shred the same powder, why not join

together into one group of students so Resorts (Brighton, Snowbird,

Canyons, and Park City) and our local sponsors will be more interested

in helping us out with discounts and events.

We invite all boarders, skiers, freeheelers, freeriders, freestylers,

aggressive sledders, professional igloo makers, and all those that LOVE

snow to join our club. Our club committee/board is made up of

telemarkers, snowboarders, skiers, thugs, and potential astronauts.

This gives us a very diverse combination of ideas, interests, services,

and resources. We are revolutionary in our thinking and our actions. At

the end of the day it's all about OneLove and that's what we're all

about.

They are a bunch of un-legit bros. they don't do anything cool. They can't organize well enough to get anything done or follow through with agreements and plans.

the only reason to join the UFS is the Alta discount.
 
I seem to remember them doing some cool stuff last year that One Love didn't do. And from what I hear this year, UFS is going to be off the chains.
 
Every year it's supposed to be off the chains, and then they just don't do anything. The only thing that they do different to my knowlege is the water ramp trip

I'm not trying to bash you, it would be nice if they did stuff... but in my experience they don't.

My personal beef: I am a graphic designer. I had a friend who helped run the club, she asked me to do shirts so they wouldn't end up with the shitty ones (that they did end up with). The prez and vice prez , who I both talked to about it (so they KNEW I was working on one), decided to go ahead with their own plan. Without telling me (so I was still spending mad time on it). So they ended up with the Bro'd out design of the skier flying over the gay power fist, and when I give them comps they say "oh, sorry dude, we already got shits made, i guess we forgot about you."

Then they still made me pay the 10 dolla to get the alta pass form

What does UFS stand for?

And would they hunt me down if i join their group just for the alta discount? Im already a member of One Love even though im not in Utah yet haha. Still waiting for my shirt though..
 
just so you know, the $99 alta deal isn't a UFS deal, it is a University of Utah deal. You take a 3 hour class (which is like $400 in tuition I think) and you get a $99 pass, but you have to teach kids on occassion. It sounds like a sick deal, but tuition is the killer in it. It still sounds fun though, so you might consider it.

I am an advocate for UFS. I really don't care what One Love is doing, they are cool kids, I know, however we need to suppor the Premier SKI club. Some of the administration in the club has changed this year, even more is changing next year. I was just put on as an officer in UFS and I am trying to get some changes made. I have some budget and we are going to see what can happen. In fact, if there are any specific reasons you don't join UFS, but I can make a change, give me your ideas. We have some cool events planned this year. I will let you know our schedule once we finalize it!
 
Just to clarify this a bit, the club administration is awesome this year. The President is a great guy, but unfortunatley he will be gone next year, which only brings more change. If you guys want to make changest to UFS, now is the time to do it. Don't support a snowboard club just because they allow skiers in it, support your local ski club and help make it YOUR club, in all the aspects that you wish to see in a ski club.
 
Im not gunna lie UFS has done nothing better over the last four years and One Love came out running... I happened to be a member of both clubs last year and it happened that one love seemed to keep me more in touch with what was happening over the course of the year as were Freeskier disappeared after the snow started flying and they weren't available until sept 3.... that just my expirenece....
 
that's what I thought, but they really are a ski/snowboard club now, not a snowboard club that allows skiers. Jason Eder... who I don't think is the president anymore but still runs a lot of the club stuff is a skier, and he was the president for the last 2 years.
 
If One Love is really for both skiers and snowboarders, why are all their premiers geared towards snowboarders. MDP, Transworld, and Variety Pack have soooo much skiing in them. I think that One Love is almost just being a huge douche bag...trying to reap the benefits of pulling skiers into a club that was once only for snowboarding. I choose UFS for the Alta discount. Yeah, it has been lame, but i think it can only get better. I will give One Love credit, but i still get major snowboard oriented vibes from them, and it is very wanna-be rastafarian. I would join One Love if they had more skier shit. If I want to be a rastafarian i will go chill with t-hall and cali p. jah bless.
 
WHAT? I just walked by there table today and they had the 4bi9 and turbo things out... yeah wallish and step were walking around handing them out but they were pimping that movie just as hard..... what ever man we are now fighting over apples and oranges shit son just join the club that fits you best....
 
they are selling our movie this year and last year, and they are stoked to do it.
 
Everyone please, Remember ONE LOVE...UFS and One Love are all doing the same thing. We ride at the same places; many of us ride together, regardless of how many boards are involved; we frequent the same shops, and enjoy similar events; we all love fresh pow, sick jumps and tall Ts (maybe not everyone). By forming a single organization with more members, we knew we would be better able to persuade shops and resorts to support the club.....Just remember to get your Brighton Season Pass now cause the early season price is will be gone after sept. 14.
