Attack GW 14 95MM bindings for Moment Wildcat 101s?

First time buying new skis, figuring out what bindings to get for em now.

These skis are going to be used for literally everything until I save up for a new touring/BC setup next season.

They’re going to be park skis, all mountain, big mountain and every other term idk the meaning of.

Attack 14s seem like the best decision right now, but do they hold up for cliff drops etc? Ideally I’d like something that goes to 17/18 but it’s way pricier.

5,9 155/160lbs.

any other bindings suggestions would be great

That’s going to be a sick set up I don’t see why you need bindings with higher din at your size. Great ski and solid binding.

I had some trouble flying out of my skis when dropping 5-6 feet off a cornice on some bent chetler shop skis with shitty bindings on 13-13 DIN so maybe that just left a bad taste in my mouth. Was a simple drop and came flying out of my skis like a sped.

i just don’t see a downside to having the higher din if I need it: 6-17, keep around 9 for everything and can go higher when I graduate to bigger jumps and cliffs.

for an extra $200 less though the 14s might be better

You don’t need an 18 if you ski at a 9 lol

I don’t ski at a 9 lol. I stayed at 11-12 all year last year since I moved out west. Going to start small this season and work my way up until I’ve built muscle back.

I’m guessing the release was due to demo bindings and a shop tech possibly not setting them correctly. The last time I rented skis (years ago now) they adjusted the bindings on my left ski and not my right and I had to do it myself in lift line. You shouldn’t be releasing at a 13 din with your weight from a 5 foot drop.

For reference, I’m like 190 and ski at 9.5. I toss my weight around, ski fast, and jump off anything I can find and don’t have release issues. The 14 is a solid binding from what I’ve heard. It’s new and I’ve only owned the 12 and 13 but I would try the 13 or 14 based off the heel angle being higher on the 11 or 12. Someone can correct me if I’m wrong but it makes your stance feel weird when clicked into the skis.

I won’t try to talk you out of the attacks because they are great bindings which I’ve owned but if you can find look pivots in your price range I would heavily consider them as well.

Thank ya for the info. I worked at a shop so I kind of poached them and used/set em up myself for the whole season. I had shitty boots years old that probably were worn down also.

i hit a weird powder pocket in the center of the ski when it popped off, which I think contributed.

id really like to get the attack 17s tho for future improvement so I don’t have to get new ones. I’d like to go for way bigger cliffs and jumps this season.

Listen to me and [tag=241854]@animator[/tag] you are not going to be needing that high of a din lol it’s a waste of money

Ight sounds good. One more question for ya - if I get a pair of pivot 15s, will it fuck it up bending the 95MM brakes to fit my 101s?

They should fit just fine. i have pivots with 95 mm brakes on my Reckoner 102s and they barely needed to be bent at all

I have pivot 15’s on reckoner 102’s and they took absolutely no bending it’s like a perfect fit.

Yea now idek if I want the Attacks. If seen so much good shit about pivots but am worried about breaking the brakes on switch or something idek.

I know it’s a big purchase but don’t overthink it. Both great bindings and people on here just have preferences. I own both and like the function and feel of pivots a little more but would never deter anyone from using attacks.
