Atomic Punx vs Line Masterminds

Hey, I like buttering and rail tricks, I don't hit very big jumps (max is 40ft) and I'm wondering which one of these skis I should get!

I'm 14 years old

5,5"

90lbs.

I'm not sure what else to say, if you need more info just comment and I'll try to help!

If you can just post anything you know about the skis and/or recommend which one is better for rails or butters that would be great!

+k of course!

I'm skiing the atomic punx right now and they're awesome skis that are on the softer side. I would say that the masterminds are softer but less durable, but at your age and weight, I would definitely go with a cheaper ski like the mastermind.

My friend whos about your size has masterminds and loves them and I have punx and I love them. If you like to go all mtn. than the masterminds are good because punx are a dedicated park ski.

the mastertminds i have like 3 friends ur size skiing them they love em u should def get masterminds i use bangs witch r tru so they r like the punx i wuld choose punx but for u mastermminds r good

my friend has masterminds and likes them but he is kind of a begginer. id say punx out of those two but above them the armada thall or maybe the tc ski next year

thia ia true, still confused on how jossi rides pipe on the punx they are some of the softest skis around and i would say stiff skis for pipe all day everyday

so im getting masterminds and punx from different people, i still need to know, can someone help me decide?

If you can afford the punx, then it's no contest really.

The punx have a sandwich construction while the masterminds are a pricepoint cap construction ski.

At 90 pounds I would get the masterminds. I think this will probably be a better ski for you than the punx. The masterminds will be softer and since you're not hitting bigger jumps I think they will be a better choice. Just IMO.

My background is working at local shops/sporting good stores. Just my opinion.

I had the masterminds last season. Super slow ski. It needs to be waxed a ton because the bases get super dry. The edges started breaking out two months in. Which isn't horrible. I really loved how they skied when i had them tuned up though. Really fun and poppy. And light!

I was at a shop yesterday and one of the ski techs was supper pissed about his punks edge separating from sidewall underfoot. He said it was after like 10 days and atomic told him to shove it. Idk if this is a common thing. Just thought I'd let you know what I heard

never heard of this happening and know like 30 people who skis punx, few members of the uk team and some other people who really beat there skis and none of them have had any problem

My little bro is around your size and just got masterminds this year with marker squires. He loves them, I definitely think they are one of the best skis for kids who are too big for a youth twin tip but still light for a full adult ski.

punx for sure, dont buy line anything except for line anthems, althought line might be durable they suck trust me....get punx, jossi wells wouldnt use them if they were bad....

Kay, sorry for the mega bump, but I'm wondering if the Punx are too soft for big jumps? Big as in 50 feet. I want to be able to spin really well without having the weight of the ski slowing me down so much. I have the afterbangs and they do this too me everytime I go for a spin. Do the Punx have a low swingweight? Thanks

i dont have the punx, im getting the 2013 punx next week, but i have done a shit load of research to find out all the details, and everyone says they have a very good swing weight and they are lighter then the afterbangs.

Do you know if you can hit large jumps with them? Im skinny so im almost surethat ill be able to since there wont be a whole lot of weight on the skis.
