Atomic Infamous

I don't know about you, but I'm fucking stoked for this to come out. Wider/rockered punx? Yes please! I'm probably gonna get them next year depending on how much they go for.

inb4 karma rape

honestly dont hate on a companies new ski, should be sick if joss, frej, ken worthy and the other guys forgot his name will be riding them, well see from the results at dewtour

I'm guessing that the Punx will remain Atomic's comp ski. Other than the K2 Guys, nobody rides a rockered ski in comps.

Honestly, I want to give them a go, they look like a ton of fun. I'm also stoked to see Keefer getting more of a push from Atomic, he's too underrated.

You had to know that it was going to basically a rockered punx, I don't know where people heard it was going to be wide....you have to remember Jossi had a lot of influence on the ski, Jossi is a park/pipe/big air skier, he's not going to design a ski that's mid-90s, that doesn't fit his style. They are a bit wider though at 86 vs the 82 of the punx. I think they look pretty fun honestly.

this ski looks so sick im most likely going to pick this upthe slight rocker and softer flex sounds so sick

i hope its still pretty similar to the punx except for the softer flex and the rocker

Reeks of hipster, but yes they sure hyped it up haha.

Should be a pretty good ski though, atomic makes quality stuff.

well that's the idea. they did a very intelligent thing with their team, segmenting 4 of their skiers under the "#infamous" header from their standard freeski team, skiers who tend to do more creative and "hipster" stuff on skis.

The way in which they presented it was the same as if they had signed four new skiers to be a part of this program, but without actually adding anyone new to the team.

It may not be everyone's favorite flavor of skiing, but it creates a pretty specific and heavy draw to the ski.

Oh the marketing team definetely killed it on that one, I agree. Great idea, it is comically hipster though. Not hating, I just think its funny.

"comically" and "hipster" typically have somewhat negative connotations, as does "funny" when in reference to something that is not supposed to be. Also, you said "though".

You're hating dude.

Great marketing, looks like a great ski. I've ridden atomics since i was 8 so i would love to try these out

As far as Im aware, they will all be riding the new skis at xgames, so presumably they wil also be riding them in the other top events.

I said the ski was going to good did I not?

Hipster Jossi is a running inside joke with the crew, sorry.

Well....let's be honest, jossi probably pushed this ski on atomic pretty hard. We all know Jossi wants to look like Max Hill. So basically it's Atomic's answer to the afterbang....not impressed.

Some things

The ski, is kinda stupid, i don't know. I think it's stupid. Why did they go for a mid year release?

A wider rockered park ski? So you mean almost every other all mountain ski out there under 100 waist.

The marketing team did good. But I don't like that jossi had to go and put his initials on the damn thing.

I was hoping a Jossi comp pro model, not something to do butters and shifty 1's. I don't know.

I'm very disappointed.

The graphic is sick, other then the jossi mark.

It's sick they got 4 different riders to be "Infamous" in a sort.

The video, was also super sick.

But wtf, i hate rocker. feel free to disagree and hate on me for my opinion

And most of that infamous team sucks anyway. That edit had no doubles at all, I'm pretty sure none of those guys can even double or do any tech rail tricks....

Atomic sure isn't doing their team any favours by introducing another noodle to the ski world, how are they supposed to do triples on that ski?

If you don't like rocker, you could always get punx if you're looking to buy atomics. I've been wanting to get punx for awhile, but now i'll ave to consider these as well. I like skinnier skis and am glad they didn't make it wide. I'm not sure how i feel about rocker yet but it looks fun. I'm just worried about edge grip on icy NJ slopes. Guess punx would be a bit better for that.

could we get a tip and tail width measurements and maybe a rocker profile or some measurements there? or did i miss those?

i think that's the point, at least with not showing doubles and super tech gnar. stylie goodness is the focus

you retardedthere not going to make another ski that exactly like the punx

if you want a ski thats stiff and you can throw tripples on then you can get the punx

this ski is more for people that focus on style instead of hucking hard and doing big tricks that look like shit

They should give it a full sidewall (I'm not a huge fan of the step down/armada ar50 type sidewall, but that's just me), and then stiffen up the punx so that they have a stiff, fast, fully cambered competition type park ski and a softer, looser, rockered jib ski as well, instead of two softer, looser park skis just with different constructions and rocker profiles.

There are so many people out there that love the Punx for what it is. If they do make it a stiffer comp-style ski, they should at least release it under a different name alongside the Punx rather than replace it. It would make everybody happy.

Comp skis usually refer to skis being used for competitions, i.e. Super Pipe and Slope Style. High speeds, hard snow, big jumps, hard landings. These skis tend to be stiffer/faster than your buttery jib ski.

I could be mistaken but it looked like Jossi was riding the infamous at dew tour, at least for big air.

Punx for pipe, Infamous for big air. So that tells you they can handle at least 65ft no problem (even though Jossi was going way more than 65)

jossi is a great skier with a lot of respect for his skills and not for his dress style. He will make a good reliable ski that can handle everything if you can. He has ridden it and proved taht it has the potential, but you have to expect a different ski for something like bigger jumps from a softer ski with smaller running length. this ski will be amazing i garantee, you just need to stop critiziing it and demo it when it comes out.

^ its a price point ski. It's something atomic has been missing for a while. Don't be put off by the price though its an amazing ski. It's my fav new park ski for next season. Rides better then a lot of my h more expensive park skis.

^ no there were a few pairs of 171's made last year but the full size range is being release for te first time this coming season. It's just a cheaper ski, park skis don't need to cost a lot as not much really goes into them.

Yeah compared to skis which I know are extruded they were much faster. In pretty sure they are sintered, I think they actually use the same ptex 4000 as the punx if I remember correctly. But yeah they ride really well I like them a lot great little skis.

what exactly does this mean? is the ski going to behave like a short sidecut ski? or does it turn more the more you lean into it?

needless to say do want.

im pretty sure it means that you are going to have less twitchy skis when you land becaus teh ski is straighter. If you look at say the Rossi scratch is is a sloping sidecut. these arent as much so. correct me if im wrong anyone
