Atomic Freeski Team = Legit

I never really liked Atomic long time. The first pair of skis I ever snapped were Atomic Tweaks. I always thought of them as more of a race company, but these days I think they have got their stuff bang on.With Tim Durtschi, Chris Benchetler, and now Andreas Hatveit, as well as Jossi Wells, Brandon Becker, Dylan Natale, IAN COSCO, Angeli Vanlaanen, Byron Wells, and some others, Atomic is starting to have a sick team and is looking pretty damn good!Their 09 lineup of skis is looking pretty sick too, especially the Bent-Chetlers.What does everyone else think?
 
Now imagine if they hadn't made the biggest fucking mistake in the history of team management and dropped Charley Ager.
 
i think jossi wells is really underrate and andreas is pretty awesome as well. their new team looks sick and when you add in their 44 days production i think they're definitely moving forward in the freeskiing scene. dana flahr as well. great team there.
 
I could be wrong but isnt Dana on Dynastar? I'm not sure on that and correct me if im wrong. Daron Rahlves is one guy i forgot and he shreds big mountain pretty hard!
 
andreas got gold at xgames last year and jossi took silver, not to metion durtschi and cosco holy shit
 
thanks for making my name caps and bold! haha. and yes, i am insanely stoked to be a part of the atomic team...the addition of andreas is SO sick and i couldn't be happier about having a new teammate!
 
ha. the first pair of twins i ever had were the atomic tweaks i delamed the tip and tail, each on a different ski. i was too young and foolish to know about warranties. so instead of sending them in for some triplets i rivited and epoxyed them. i was a noob then so the skis were perfect and my local shop told me later that they would have almost for sure gave me some new skis. oh well. i was young and foolish and those days are past.(sortof)
 
i snappeda pair of triplets huckin a 30fter, they have a sick warrenty deal, just sent em back to the shop and got a new pair of punx fo free.
 
44 days was such an amazing short ski movie. Everyone should learn how to make a movie from this, just with better music.
 
fuck that not one penny of my money is going towards atomic or any other race ski manufacturer. like holy fuck yea they have a stacked team and would kill at orage masters but fuck them. they make enough money from race kids buying 10 brand new pairs of skis every year.
 
i think thats a stupid reason not to buy from a company...because they already make money atomic makes way legit freeski stuff and what skis you buy should be based on quality not who you got it from
just watching 44 days you can see how talented the team is and i expect great things from all these guys
 
okay valid i guess but your still wrong. I know for a fact some of the atomic athletes are gettting fucked around and not getting as much credit as they deserve becasue they are such a big company. look at cosco. . . where is his segment in 44 days?

and also the quality of their skis may be great, but I would much rather spend my money on a pair of moments or line or k2. same skis basically just differenet company.
 
asshole, you should base your reason on quality not if they already make enough money, atomic is a SOLID company with racing and freestyle, they're getting bigger and bigger each year,

so you would rather buy a pair of rossi's because they are loosing money and might go under? thats cool if you like the skis, but think about it dude

 
First of im pretty sure cosco hasn't been on atomic very long. So this means he didn't have time to film for 44 days. so... epic fail

And if you honestly think moments line k2 and atomic are the same skis ... epic fail
 
whoa now dude. they treat there athletes amazingly. without them, i would be absolutely nothing, and wouldnt even eb able to ski or travel or anything. i wasnt in 44 days ebcause i was so focused on filming with Rage....bad call on my part, i really wish i was a part of it, but i just had my minds et on rage. but trust me, all these top of the line athletes wouldnt be skiing for atomic if they werent treating them like kings. atomic is the best thing that ever happened to me man.
 
idiot. so what your saying, is that even tho a company (being general here) is making a ton of cash in a specific market sector, it shouldnt branch into anouther sector and develop it into somthing just as big?? your dumb, you buy from a company depending on whether they make a ski that is right for you, not depending whether they are making money in a different sector.
 
epic team, they're covering all the freestyle aspects, park, pipe, urban, Bc, Freeride.

really happy to see that.

and i'm really confortable riding on atomic's stuff.

they kinda invented the ski, but the thing is now a days, kids prefer skis with nice graphics only, or cause they're role model use it..

they been making skis for ever, and now they put a lot of budget on the freestyle scene.
 
Don't worry, when I was 13 I thought that way too. Your little "I hate big companies" phase will pass.
 
What are you on? That's a perfectly legitimate reason to support someone else... say, Moment doesn't make that much bank but I support what they do, consequently I want to put my money towards them rather than Amer sports. That's fair... let him buy skis for whatever reasons he wants. Fuck, I know more than half of the people on this site base their purchases on graphics anyway.
 
^ That wasn't meant to imply that you shouldn't buy Atomics just because Amer sports makes a lot of money.
 
their team is good, but other than cosco and durtschi none of the guys are people that I REALLY enjoy watching, andreas and jossi are both great athletes, but theres nothing about watching them that gets me inspired

and honestly, i know atomic makes a good product, but this goes along the same lines, i just feel like their product has no soul, like its just a machine thats built but doesnt have any character. When you buy a pair of rossis, lines or salomons youre buying something that has a story behind the development of the product and that the people who made them have put their effort and energy into them, atomics just feel like they were made in a lab by a bunch of guys with rulers and pocket protectors
 
sorry if im putting an analogy on it, but its like buying an italian vs a german sports car. The german will do everything the italian does on paper, buy you allready know which one youre gonna buy...
 
Atomic is a company just as many others keeping the sport alive. Regardless of "shame on big corporations", they're the ones who sponsor events and sell the most, they're the face of skiing. Sure I support what Moment and such are doing but they're not the ones that are gonna keep our precious sport from dwindling in the economic crisis skiing will face in the coming years because people won't want to buy unknown ski brands that costs $400ish (granted they have to price like this to keep their company alive.) In summary, Atomic skis are great skis and every year they push to make their skis better just as many others do, but unfortunately too many don't (wont name names).. its not like they're taking freeski money and using it to develop race skis; look at the punx, they used to break all the time so i hear, and now they're one of the most durable skis on the market

i ski line, im not saying he shouldnt buy smaller companies, im saying he shouldnt not buy a company because they dont need it
 
well i buy line skis because i like what they have done, do, and will continue to do. it doesnt phase me that k2 owns them now. if you have an innovative product, its worth supporting. think line 1260, line ostness dragon, line elizabeth, line prophet 130 if you say "whats innovative about any of that?" then you should do some research. those skis shaped skiing today.

i dont think atomic has had any innovations since the beta channels, and they are way behind the times of freeski technology. they just feed off of others intuitivness, while they might have assembled a strong team to help hide that fact, it wont help get my buisness. i mean the only atomic product worth buying is the 916, that salomon makes.
