thats old news, they got bought back in september. I guy that I work with did contract work for them, which works out well seeing as we both work in a atomic store!

Volant will no longer make fat skis. They're going to focus on the way expensive 'Doctor/Lawyer' market - $1000+ skis. I don't think they're going to have a freeride team anymore. Volant only had two athletes anyway: Shane and Max Kuszaj - maybe they'll switch over to Atomic.

 
atomic isnt really much of a racing company anymore...at least i never think of them as racing...i think of em as great all mountain and twin tip..

just so you know dude, kundstadt sports sucks balls! the guy at the ski show tried to tell me that some old atomic beta rides were awesome for powder(note the skis had about a 75mm waist).

Firstly why all the haters guys? One love right.

Secondly, Thanks Spike, Atomic does have a good freeride and all mountain department (and beleive it or not its because of the race dept .. .like any other company, its like the rally circuit for car manufactureres, gives them a chance to test out new tech and trickle it down for the rest of us) but if you follow racing Atomic is always on or near the podium.

Not that that matters too much, except when you get a twin tip ski that can actually carve turn.

Oh and BTW Atomic also comishioned(?) Look to design a new binding that ill be available on the 2005 tweak (not last years gray ones but based on this years new blue ones). The bindings are sick, light and super strong.

You say atomic isnt much of a race company, are you kidding me. i for one race on atomic slalom and gs skis. some of the top racers in the world are on atomic including the whole austrian race team. atomic has had more podium finishes then any other ski in the world. they make some of the best boots out there and have one of the best gs and slalom skis aviable. Volant is a great company as well they just have a harder time marketing their skis

 
^ I think his point was that Atomic does alot more than racing. Thay make twin tips and one of the biggest mofo big mountain skis available.

 
volant is dropping the entire machete line...the only reason they had the new machetes at SIA was b/c the decision came after the show

I've heard that McConkey isn't gonna ride for Volant since they're scrapping the freeride program...

I know he was also pretty stoked to see the Prophets at SIA.

Atomic has been making Volants for about the past two seasons (ever since they started with the carbon fiber sidewalls). Old news

I have a theory that all retards have one long tendon that goes from wrist to wrist, so therefore that is why they always are screwin around with one wrist up, and the other one down.
