So just bought last years model new in a 188 based on recommendation from a couple people as I’m advanced frontside skier, aspiring powder and bowl rider, such as “The Wall” at kirkwood.

Just wanted to start a thread for people who have these to comment. What do you love, like, dislike or hate about them????

I have the 117s and love them, super curious about the 102 though. Seems like it would be fun

Tell me more. I almost got the 109's but many said that for me just learning steep bowls and powder, the 102s are really good. Then, this whole "Sierra Cement" thing here in Tahoe has me wondering? What are you in?

I ski the pnw, and for powder I prefer something 110+. The ski is awesome though. Floats super well, very maneuverable and fun, yet stiff enough in the right places for speed and stability in landings. Rocker and hrzn tech in the tip with a little bit of rocker and taper in the tail. Basically a more directional stiffer bentchetler

The 102 is the only ski in the Backland series that doesn't have any metal in it. That's why it's an easier ski to ski than the others in the lineup. I wish they would offer it with the CTI technology and not just Carbon.

None of the Backland skis have metal in them- just varying amounts of carbon fiber. The OG Automatic 117s had strips of titanium in the rocker zones, but not since becoming "Backland".

Looking for 100mm+ & CTI & HRZN tech? Be patient, young Skywalker :)

Make a more directional twin tip free ride oriented version of the backland 109...LOVE the 109 but would love something slight more twin tip oriented but still stiff and chargy. Perfect everyday ski

Odd, the Atomic rep in New Zealand is who informed of that fake news. A Carbon or CTI HRZN tech twin tip would be raddd
