has anybody out there ever made one. i have a perfect pond and a super steep hill, just wondering if its been done. it would be so sick

I saw a video a while back of someone who had built one into a pond.... wouldn't be as good though because theres no vents to break the water

You would have to cut holes in your skis. You could also mcguyver up some pipes or something of that nature to blow out air and break the water. I think its very doable, just the more air you plan on getting; The more work your going to have to put into it so its legit.

huge misconception that you need bubbles/ a bubbler to hit a water ramp. assuming you arent going to be building a ramp the size of a double, you won't need bubbles at all

find some suitable turf or meanie(plastic carpet used on ramps) online and order it

build the entire ramp out of wood and then build the jump to whatever size you want, search skateboard ramp building blueprints, that should give you a rough idea, just make it way less vert

and then just nail down the turf or meanie and spray water on it, wax your skis and scrape off the excess and you should be fine

You don't need them of course, it just sucks when your trying new tricks and you fall on your face on flat water. Yeah if you cut holes in your skis it makes for good times. But I mean I wouldn't think making bubbles would be too difficult.

yah, cuttin holes in my skis is much more likely to happen. im getting new skis this year so i can beat the shit out of my invaders. how deep should the water be? my ponds about 6-7 feet at its deepest, buts its super muddy at the bottom. i prob wont be going super big, so i figure the impact of me hitting the water will slow me down enough. what do you think?

Since the gravitationnal acceleration is 9,81 meters per second^2 you could try to find the decceleration in water and calculate the highest point you can jump from. I could do it for you but I don't know the decceleration in the water but it just needs a little bit talent in physics.

Or to have a less accurate answer, but a good one, I think you can compare with divers. At our town's pool, there's a 5m diving board and the water is 4,5 m deep but people don't go past 3 m. So for 5m high you go 3m deep. So for 7feet deep you can go 11,67 feet high (I think it's this but I maybe wrong). And since you have your skis, they'll probably slow you down a lot so I think you could go 15 feet high maximum.

I hope this help you because I tried my best but if you want, I could ask my physics teacher and i'm sure he'll give the right answer but I believe i'm right.
