AT Bindings

Im looking at getting set up for skinning, and am trying to decide on AT bindings. I have Tahoe backcountry in my back yard and I'm planning on skinning some big lines and building some booters. I'm hopefully gonna have Slant Cornelious', but don't know what bindings to get. Ive looked at Marker Duke's and Diamir Freeride's. Which of these are better? Are there any other good AT bindings that can hold up to switch landings?

if you're hitting booters and sending cliffs go with dukes. fritschis haven't held up well from my many experiences pre-releasing from them

but it sounds like you're inexperienced in the bc. take an avy course, get all the safety equipment, and go out with a friend. you can't just buy touring bindings and hike up a hill and ski it, you need to know what you're doing in order to stay safe

basically this. i dont know how burly you are but if you really wana send big crazy shit normal bindings and trekkers might be an option too. although trekkers suck balls for long tours. above all though take an avy course.

awesome guys thanks for the advice. im always wary of a marker binding but it seems like the duke is where its at for touring. I was actually wondering about doing an avy course, i should get on that as well as get a hold of a beacon.

if your doing bc you need a beacon definitely, the duke's are much heavier than the freeride's, but the freeride's are more for touring and riding than booters dukes are bombproof for short hikes, it all depends on how much hiking your really doing

if you're thinking about hitting booters then definitely go with the dukes... they're much more durable than the average AT setup.

you and someone else most definitely need a beacon, shovel, and probe. and know how to use all of them.
