Our cultures attention towards Mars when it comes to space exploration needs to change. We should be investing the majority of the money in space exploration in the moons of Jupiter and Saturn. Tidal forces have created some extraordinary worlds out there. i.e. Titan being the only moon in our solar system with an active atmosphere..... Thats fucking crazy if you think about. Its the only terrestrial celestial body that we know of to have an atmosphere even though it is an incredibly long distance away from the sun.
The basic elements needed to support life HAVE been found there, via the Cassini spacecraft that dropped the Huygens probe onto the moon.
So yeah, fuck Mars. NASA has sent 32 spacecrafts to that geologically dead planet while they have only sent 3 to the outer planets in our atmosphere... I wanna know whats up out there. I guarantee its some crazy shit.

I totally agree. We should invest more of our resources into mission and goals that would be more realistic. I really hope they do the mission soon where they go to one of Saturn moons, and penetrate through the ice and see what that different world has to offer, rather than playing on rocks and drawing dicks on mars surface.

I think people take the universe for granted and many dont realize how fucking crazy it is. Last night i was looking at the moon and just thinking "damn, we put someone on that thing" and it seems insane, even though that occured almost 50 years ago.
The Universe is also so HUGE that it baffles me. When something is "called close to us" and its like 500 million light years away i just can't handle that. How are we ever going to know even what one percent of the universe holds if our technology and exploration remain the same. We need to step it up.

Here is something that will blow your mind. With Saturn, there are moons with in the rings, and when the moons or these objects move with in the rings they create waves in the rings themselves.
Its also crazy how many segments there are in saturns rings.
And those rings arent as big as you think.
Some parts of saturns rings range from 30 ft(10 meters) tall to a kilometer tall.

My favorite astronomical phenomenon would probably have to be a binary star. Crazy to think about the physics and forces that must be involved in one of those things.

also big question if there is a way for a really really really really advanced alien civilization to go up and beyond what we call "physical laws".
it seems that so much stuff if discovered each year, each decade, it seems almost silly to state a lot of things as "fact". just watched that video of michio kaku. nothing too new for me but a great summary and he put everything in relation together and that was nice.

I have been looking into getting a telescope and a canon mount to take pictures of the moon, saturn and certain galaxies.
I got really interested when I was taking this picture
It blew my mind to see the moon moving in my camera screen as I had it on a tripod focusing. I felt so small and space felt so huge. It had me mesmerized with space since that moment and now I want to pick up a telescope and start hobbying away.

what's amazing to me is how god placed all the photons in the right place so that we know there are distant stars.
you might think this would go against the bible but actually if the scientists were right the sky would be as bright as the sun and we would not exists.

No the sky is not as bright as the sun you mental case. This is because only an infintesmal portion of the starlight actually is pointed in the right direction to hit earth. Also, the universe is most likely finite, and there is simply not enough stars in the observable universe to provide enough surface light to fill the entire sky. A lot of stars are very, very far away and most of their light gets picked off by gases and material floating in the vacuum. Another reason is because the universe is expanding, the frequency of the light emitted from these stars becomes more in the infrared range and not just in the visible light range.

Your a dipshit but this is actually valid point.
Its why I personally believe in the necessity of infinity atleast in time. Of course you could argue that if time is infinite the existence of our universe is relatively non existent but it does exist and if time was finite how would you explain the change from nothing to something and vice versa.
