Recently I was diagnosed with a pretty grim knee situation (severely damaged cartilage under my kneecap) - other than one very specific, very expensive operation that MIGHT help, the doc said its pretty much up to me how much pain I can bear relative to the sports I chose to enjoy.

Obviously, I want to ski.....

So I'm wondering if anybody here has experience with Asterisk Knee Braces, specifically their "Cell" model....If you've used them, how much did it help? what was your injury beforehand/at present? do them fit with ski boots (I happen to telemark...)

ANY information/reviews/advice would be much appreciated, seeing as the Cells run about 575/pair on eBay.

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure that knee braces need to tailored. I'm not 100% on this, but if they do, then they might run you more then $600. That sucks on your condition though. Hope you can find something that will keep the shred mission alive.

These are very high quality braces that will be very expensive, but worth it to get you back freeheelin'. Asterisk is the only adjustable one on the market, does not need to be tailored.

I used to work at a shop that carried the astrix knee brace, its pretty sick. the brace is supported with a full quick lace back. there are also 4 external 2.5mm adjustments that essentially tighten the top and bottom of the brace to your leg, it works by expanding and contracting metal bands within the brace. once you have it set for your leg you can use the 4 quick buckles in the back to get in and out without having to adjust the laces. Its a has a super nice fit that dosnt affect mobility in ANY way, i deffinatly recomend these.
