How do people do this, where it looks like they are almost sitting down on there skis, often in flat sections to maintain speed.

Its because you live out west. When I lived out East, my buddies would get their passes pulled. Straightlining is illegal there; out west, I would straightline the entire mountain and get cheered on

Ha ha! Don't count on it is a "Slow Zone"! In terrain park where I ski it's all fine there.

Ski patrol are a different animal at tiny Midwest/east coast hills. The smaller the resort, the bigger jackasses they are

I sure won’t be skiing anymore east of where I am then. Damn...

don't worry you're not missing much. I'll give you an example of prime midwest ski patrol. There was once a kid down on the last set of rails at my home resort's park. There were 5+ patrollers tending to him, and they started aggressively blowing their whistle and waving their arms at me because I was hitting a rail like halfway up the hill from their big mess. They kept yelling at me to stop, and I didn't, so one of them literally dove and tried to swipe me with his ski pole as I skied past them. It was absolutely absurd. I am not going to be told that I can't hit a rail 100+ feet away from a downed kid. Ski patrol is a big joke here.

I would have to say this is false. I have skied the east my whole life and never been reprimanded or called out for the ole squat send. Sure if you are bombing down a green amidst a jerry patch you may get a talking to at any resort. Just pick your spots and dont be a jackass. And OP, try harder

This trick is for pros only. I heard that if you can pull this off on an unexacting ski patroller they will give you next years season pass for free

If that was true I'd had some free passes! Ha ha.

Good luck with that one if you dare.
