hey guys. im just wondering if you could give me a quick lowdown on what those places are like. im from ontario but can handle my own out west. is it generally pretty tame stuff or is it like gnar cliffs and shit. i figure first hand is better than looking at their website cause you cant trust that stuff too much.

thanks

The snow has been great. As you probably already know you will have four mountains to chose from so it is pretty diverse. My favorite feature is the pipe at buttermilk. Buttermilk is where the X-Games are held. Snowmass has a decent park also as well as more all and big mountain type skiing. Highlands has the highland bowl, home to 43+ degree slopes (steep), but you have to hike. Aspen mountain does not have a park, but you can do some serious top to bottoms on a day you just feel like cruising (it happens sometimes), because the gondola gets you to the top pretty fast, and they just installed all new buckets like the ones at jackson hole.

Oh ya, bring lots of money. Also be prepared for nearly non-existent lift lines, This is the ski town where almost nobody actually skis. We don't have time because you need at least two jobs to live here ;)

haha sick thanks for the help. and for the record i can ski park in ontario. if im goin across the continent im skiin some gnar stuff.

i'm leaving michigan for snowmass on january 1st. staying at the woodbridge condos. looks like it's been dumping, super pumped.

Well in that case, both snowmass and aspen have some really nice backcountry, but don't ski alone because we have more avalanches than any other county in colorado which is a state with one of the worst stats for avalanches.
