Aspen - snowmass mountain chalet vs lichenhearth

They're practically right next to each other but they are very different. The Chalet is a "budget" hotel and the other is for condo rentals.

Thanks, ended up at the Mountain Chalet. Would definitely stay again.

Pros:

Truly ski in and out, got to the front door during snow storm

Includes breakfast and lunch

Fridge, Microwave, coffee maker in room

Big rooms many look to include pullout sofa beds

Free Airport shuttle (better than trying to hop around on the bus)

Great front reception staff

Dogs! If you love dogs, this is a pet friendly place and it really lightened up people

Great lobby to hang out in

Good location (downhill) of Ranger Station - that's critical and near the mall

Ski locker but ok to bring stuff to room

Had hot tub, didn't use it though

Free coffee/tea/hot chocolate/water thing in the lobby

Actually a legit set of recommendations on a cork board about restaurants and things to do that wasn't just affiliate advertising.

Cons:

A bit dated which makes for potentially noisy neighbors. We had some pretenders next door for part of the week that were quite annoying.

Snowmass depending on your point of view due to the distance from town. So each time you go into town it's a bus ride which is free but can get lengthy. Each of the other mountains as you guys know are rides one way or another but the advantage of something in town is that Snowmass is the far one away.

Costs seemed very good compared to other places especially given all the pros. Obviously that part varies like crazy. Anything under $300/night (after all the taxes and stuff) I think if splitting with people is very good for what it is. Over $400 I'd start getting disappointed, that's just a ton of money IMO.
