to americans: mostly new-englanders and southerners, and west-coast wannabes, also known as bros. does dressing like a 46 year old businessman as a 19 year old really help your dick get wet? how many girls blew you last night because of your bruins snapback you had on backwards?

I thought he meant that they look like idiots, as if a 40-year-old business man was trying to look like he was 19, and such be a bit... not classy.

Just spent so long reading that entired thread and loled lots.

Americans- why do you hate americans so bad yet love them so much at the same time?

Australia has stayed under the radar very successfully?

Australians, if you don't live in Perth, do you hate people from Perth? Got that impression last summer...

It is indeed. We sit in the front seat of a cab and don't lock our doors at night. Corporal punishment is dished out with a wingtip and I have played knivey-spoony before.

I don't hate people from Perth but I think they hate Victorians. But I think every state thinks the others are against them.

smart. we should do that here in Canada, considering the possibility of ice on the road for 1/2 the year and all the totally avoidable accidents if people knew how to drive on it.

There would be no harm done, it would create jobs and get some extra money into the road system through the fees. In Finland it's about 6-8 hours on the track and it costs round 60 bucks.

We also have a compulsory night driving exercise (which can't even be done in the summer as it's too light out at nights). This helps kids learn how to use their long lights properly when passing on dark roads and around dark corners etc.

I'd lean more on the side of salty liquorice (salmiakki). It's an acquired taste, but given to someone not familiar with it it's almost always either amazing or repulsive.

But I love me some Salmiakki Kossu.

I like alot of the Scandinavian drive tests. From what I have been told the Norway one has a summer and winter portion, and you have to take it in a stick shift. To bad thy will never happen over here.

I'm so stoked to do mine! :D

//one of them loser city kids who have not yet taken their drivers license

most of north america doesn't even know how to drive standard these days. I find it really funny, because it's really not that hard.

In Finland the law states that every single person owning a license must know how to drive a manual, based on the fact that in the case of an emergency no one should be put in danger because someone can't drive a stick.

in belgium you can, but if you get your license it'll show "automatic transmission" and you are only allowed to drive automatics with it ....

that's what the UN said back in 1948.. and yes i do.

not much of a religius man but if you look up in the bible it does say we should get it. it also says so in the muslim bible (kor'an) that jews should have jerusalem for themselfs.

Fair enough.

Have you been in the army yet, if yes, how did you like it? We have to train in the army in Finland as well.

a) poor people, ruled by terrorists. i hope one day we'll have peace with them, but that's got to be from both sides- they're not really into it.

b)pretty awesome i guess. i've only been to the east coast on spring though. been having trouble to get a new visa because i'm in "immigration potential"..fuck that..

c) never been there. might get there sometime in the next few years. should be pretty awesome

d)i want to travel there sometime, fjords are lookin' amazing

yes i have, 4 and a half years, finished my service as a lieutenant. i made some good friendships in my service so i guess it was fine.have you been in the army?

also, scandinavian people- what's it like to have like 4 months of dark every year?

Well we don't have complete darkness here, except at the northernmost points of Finland and Norway, where the sun goes away completely for about two months. Otherwise it's just daylight from around 8am-4pm in the winter months.

I only served for six months, luckily. It was a shitty time for me.

And the darkness, well it affects people very differently, I get depressed if there's no snow but if there's snow, the darkness is my friend. I'm a night person anyway, nothing better than walking empty streets in the middle of the night, listening to good music and just relaxing.

well, i assume you are on NS because you ski, so....

how is the skiing in israel? Do you guys also have a freestyle community up there? or is it pretty oldschool/uninfluenced ?

And how did you find out about NS ?

And a general question, when i hear about israel it seems like you guys are always at war or at least in conflict, how much are you personally affected by these conflicts?

so cool to have you here, i wouldn't expect israeli's, or people from the middle east in general, to be on NS ...

:)

God damn America not taking initiative to teach young children foreign languages. I only started learning spanish in 8th grade

I don't HATE perth, but they don't really offer anything to the country. Dey lazay. And their accents are heavier. Gross.

well, skiing in israel pretty much sucks. we only have one resort that on a good season is open for a month or so...not much of a freestyle community, from what i know, there are just 8 freeskiers in israel including me..

it kinda sucks that most skiers in israel are just into recreational skiing...

when i started to get interested in freeskiing i googled and found out NS..

as for the last question- there is an israeli-palestinian conflict, some times it's better, some times it's worse. i live in northern israel, not really close to palestinian areas so it doesn't effect my everyday life.

however, some of my friends go to college just about 2km from the gaza border-hence they're more affcted, terrorists launch rockets towards israel from the gaza stripe almost on a daily basis.

cool, does your mountain, i assume mt hermon, have any rails/jumps set up ? or is it sidebooters and selfmade stuff you have to do it with?
