haha that sux. i tried rollerblading and i can do like the normal grinds u would do on skis, but some of the things good rollerbladers do are so crazy. rob wasnt giving any love
 
Robs the man. He just isnt into inlining but if you had a ski show and were sponsorded by a ski company (that didnt make boards) you would say the something to influence little jimmie into asking for a pair of skis at christmas instead of a board
 
good point. but the fact is skiing is so much fresher than snowboarding in so many ways. i could go all day on this one
 
i think hes actually a really funny guy at heart, but ya being a total sell out will do stuff to weird shit to you like it has done to him.
 
you gotta admit that it is true that almost nobody rollerblades anymore. i mean what with the newer freestyle shit and all it might be making a comeback, but the only people i've seen doing it were here on NS, never actually seen anybody skating in this city, or anywhere else for that matter i wanted to pick it up myself a while back but i've already got so much shit going on in the summer that it just iosn't worth it to me.
 
nah dude, you woud be surprised how much rollerblading is growing. in SIngapore there were about 15 guys who skated about a year ago, now there are over 50. in Boise kids on rollerblades have been clogging up skateparks for the last couple months because so many of them are starting to ride.

rollerblading will rise again. more powerful than ever before!!!!!1!
 
same here. i never have heard of much freestlye blading until i was on NS, and it isn't even that popular here. i have never seen someone just in town skating, while i have seen tons of bikers and skate boarders

but to the thread, rob is pretty ignorant here, i dont know how you could be in the action sports industry and not even hear of freestyle rolling. i'm sure if he saw some of the legit pros these days though, he would show them respect. but yea overall hes overrated and a sellout

its definatly a creative idea, and it looks very well thought out, but...... really, in the end, skiing is a board sport, so i just dont see a boot like that happening, grinds are progressing more and more with presses, butters, ollies and nollies. you only see a couple people trying rollerblade style tricks, and it just looks silly and it just plain doesnt fit. skis get in the way, if you want to do rollerblade tricks, snow blades are perfect for that.i respect you and other people trying these new wierd style tricks, because while most of those grinds may look sorta dumb and out of place, eventually some might work really well and stick. but to really progress you have to be willing to screw up and look stupid, ALOT.i do like some rollerblade style tricks, like 1 footers and dragging your back foot, but really crossing your skis in wierd ways, grinding on your legs and boots, and flopping yourself on boxes, is only for the very few amount of people who actually like it.
 
oh and rob dyrdek is kind of a tool. i dont really like rollerblading at all, but to talk shit about it on a tv show is just dumb. i respect them for doing what they do, having the balls to do some of the crazy stuff they do, and most of all i respect them for having fun, because thats all that really matters and thats what its all about. i just dont have any interest in it because i cant stand the style. but some people do, and thats awesome.
 
no offense, but that ain't gonna happen anytime soon. that is the recipe for a very mobile boot, and mobility in skiboots is a very, very bad thing. may be good for rails, but nowhere else. not to mention its modeled off of an existing mold that salomon isn't going to just let you use. very creative, i will give you that, but don't get your hopes up

ok i rollerblade too but personaly i think its relly gay looking. its super mega fun to skate and learn new grinds and stuff but it just looks retarted
 
is rollerblading hard to pick up?

cause i have nothing to do over the summer and i was thinking about buying a set of blades and learning. like i know how to rollerblade but just tricks and stuff?
 
depends for some its easy but to do like frontsides and backsides its pretty easy but harder tricks like topsides and spins into topsides is more difficult
