how many people have ashes where they live? here in great falls they have been settling on everything, they get thick on cars overnight. Great Falls isnt even to close to any fires so I figured that other towns might have alot more.

Yep, I think you might have been getting ashes from a fire right by Polson, it looked like the smoke was headed towards Great fallls. It sucked cause I was skating last night and kept getting ashes in my eyes, it hurt bad

There is a fire on the east side of the Bob, and that is probably what you are getting Kip. I think it is called the Fool Creek fire?

theres fires all over here, fool creek is huge, hardy creek is burning, they evacuated holter but were just out in the prairie no forest for 20-30 miles from here

so is the whole lake closed then, i was up there like two weeks ago when the fire was still under 300 acres how big is it now

yeah the gates are on fire. its pretty big now, and in a really hard place to fight. its all cliffs and stuff over there. helena doesnt have any ash that ive seen....

yea, i was stayin at holland lake and they closed the road to seeley and evacuated it. so we had to drive an extra like two hours home

i guess back in the 1800s there was a fire that started west of helena and spread east of fort benton before it went out

Do you think if there was a ridiculous amount of ash you could ski it? I bet it would be ridiculously fluffy, if you could somehow get a base it would be so nice.

Ya, not gonna happen...

ha ha, maybe if you had a snow base and a ridiculous fire or volcanoe blew in a couple inches of ash but if there was that much ash i dont think we would be worrying about skiing
