so you need to have "harshness" or be "gangster" to be hip hop?thats the dumbest thing ive heard. im not saying hes the next nas or biggie by ANY means, but as soon as someone plays up to a different crowd everyone is up in arms. everyone has a misconception that rap needs to be cutting edge or talk about drugs, money, gangs, violence, etc. wrong.lyrics do not make a genre of music. Big L and Immortal Technique are just two of my favorite rappers of many, and they happen to use "harsh" lyrics, but that isnt what makes them good. its the way they flow, and the beats that they rap over. just because everyone doesnt talk about harsh things doesnt mean you just disregard them talentwise, because asher has some. If you asked 100 random people who listened to rap,i bet 80 of them would be from like 13-25, which is exactly why he would market a song about college, because of its relatability. so as we sit here bitching about how he doesnt have shit for talent, hes probably sitting at home, letting the money roll through his fingers.
