I was checkin out the results for the women's slopestyle, and it said she did not show for her 1st run...anyone know what the deal is about this? i bet she coulda killed it had she had more than one run...

Ok, i was there, she rolled down about 250 windows and overshot a bit, wasnt that bad.

That womens comp was a disgrace. I cant beleive they got invited, then paid for what they did, the only girl who jumped was martinod. I cant beleive Heather La Hart. She did boner 3s and 5s off the fucking knuckles of the jumps. didnt even hit a jump her whole run. There are so many girls that deserved to be in that and weren't, because girls qualifiers was cancelled. bullshit. It was a brand new low for womens skiing.

Way to take a shit on your own sport girls.

if Ashley didnt jump, its because she was smart enough not to. She could have slayed the course, but no need for her to if she was hurt.

Ashley went huge on the channel gap and totally overshot. She was in so much pain afterwards...it was ridiculous. I can't even believe that she kept skiing after that, but she's a trooper.

She killed the down rail at the top and did a sick disaster onto the last down of the triple kink. Her shins hurt way too much to be able to hit the jumps. She would've killed it if she wasn't hurt.

now the womens slope at wsi is cancelled indefinetely because they wasted over 5000$ on prize money for nothing. it was a big disapointment and we wont be seeing it again for awhile...martinod killed it but everyone else was very lame

ya...to the guy who said ti wasnt that bad? you're completely wrong...she was following sammy carlson and sammy went too big, and ash ahs a habit of going faster then the person shes following cuz she always thinks shes gonna case so she went even bigger then sammy, and sammy was in apin. she went fucking HUGE and that landing was flat as fuck. she definatley would ahve killed it if she didnt hurt herself, but it was wise to not hti the jumps...she was disastering the triple kink tho....no girl is even close to ashelys rail skills...plus shes the fuckin shit!

Here's what happened:

There were seven or so girls that were going to hit the course. For some stupid reason, they didn't have a women's qualifier, so there was no way to replace girls that did not compete.

A couple girls got hurt before the comp such as Sarah. Some girls were training for pipe and other shit so they just didn't even bother doing it.

That left four girls: Marie, Denise, Ashley and Heather.

Ashley over-shot the fuck out of the channel gap which made her shins die so she couldn't compete. Instead of pulling out completely, just decided to just have fun. She hit the rails, skipped the jumps, and came in last.

Heather La-Hart was just fucked. She didn't hit anything. She did threes and shit off rollers, didn't hit the rails. She sucked and came in third.

Denise Jaworsky was the only girl to hit every feature. Before her second run, several inches of snow accumulated slowing the speed down so she cased the crap out of her five. Five or six other athletes (guys) dropped in after her and did the same thing, including Sammy Carleson, Tom Dolezel, Corey Vanular, etc. Denise got second for hitting all the features and landing everything except the first case.

Marie skipped the rails but did well on the jumps, straight airing the first one after seeing the other girls and guys case. She did a super sick 3 mute off the last jump which put her in first.

So there's all the happened. The women's slopestyle was lame obviously... but then, so was the men's final. Peter Olenick was the only one that cleared the first jump out of the five people.

Put together injuries, a lack of people because of no qualifier, and a slew of fresh snow fucking up the speed, and you have all the reasons why the women's WSI slopestyle sucked.

 
in reply to ur message, i went to wsi with a bruised heel and had already scratched from vtopen because of it and wasn't about to scratch from wsi or braking my heel even more and not competing in pipe. Considering half the field already scratched, sarah had a bruised heel, jen got hurt the day before, denise rocked her head pretty hard, and ashley is tough as hell and took a good shot on the channel pretty much as long as you competed you could make some money...

i totally agree with you that it was a discrace, im definately not proud of my run ,actually quite ashamed that i got 3rd place with it so rediculuous...bruised heels suck, i was definately pissed that i couldnt hit the jumps cause the course was pretty nice.

it sux that they didnt' have qualifiers because there are girls out there who aren't injured like all the girls field was and who did deserve to be there but weren't able to compete. It definately was not a good show from the girls. Only affirms most people's points of views girls in skiing...oh well

we both had the same injury (bruised heels), both did the same thing, she cased the first hit and i did the same. If youve ever had a bruised heel you know that pretty much ends your jumping for a while.

 
shit, i was waiting for someone to give denise some credit. denise doesn't get nearly as much credit as she deserves. she's nasty on rails (including a sick bs switch-up i've seen her throw), she's the only girl i've seen throw unnatty spins off jumps in comps, she was the first girl to 270 onto a box/rail in a comp (04 usfo), and she can hold her own in pipe. i'm not taking anything away from ash, michelle, grete, sarah, or kristi, but denise is one of the best all around female riders out there.
