ARV's

Hey guys. For information, I'm 175cm , 147 lbs, and I'm an advanced skier. I ride everthing, from a lot of park to trees, pow, groomers...I'm from Quebec province, and I ride almost everywhere in the province. I plan to go on a trip to the west, like Banff or Killing Horse.....

Last year, I rode Line Anthem, and I really liked the feeling, the pop... everything! But they were stolen...

So, I was looking at the Armada ARV, dimensions are about the same, but I read a lot about this ski that is was very soft... and I dont want a ski that is too soft... I went at a shop, and when I flexed them, I was like... mmm, a loooot of flex, very soft... but I was not sure at all if it was SOO different than the Anthem... Then, the Line Blends poped at my eyes... they look sick... but is it a little bit too wide (100mm waist..??)

If you have comments on those skis, or any other suggestion... it would be appreciated!

Thx, Phil

and the other problem... I REALLY don't like the new look of the 08-09 Anthem... And another thing that bugs me... the Anthem Special Edition has no carbon ollieband... do you think it's a probleme..... comments plz !!!

ARV's are stiffer than anthems! you can handle them. if you're going to be doing alot of BC i would rock the 85's or is is 86 either way im as tall as you and i rock JJ's all over the mountain with no problem and the arv's are way more versitle. i think you'd be happy fo sho. where do you plan on mounting them?

I think the recommended position is -5 , if i'm not wrong ?? I think i would prefer like -2... I rode center mounted last year... i liked it! but I would not put ARV's center mounted, it would be stupid...

i'd say if you're doing all mt riding you'll probably wanna go -3 but a cm isnt really alot. the blends are deff stiffer, my buddies got a pair. i've never skied them tho so im not sure on how they ski.

If you really liked last years athems why dont you just find them on ebay. lots of shops try to get rid of lasts years new stuff on ebay and you save $. dont comprimise unless you have demoed the ARVs and you really like them. get a ski you already like.

^^^^^ Line doesn't ship to Canada, we have to get them trough a local dealer and no-one near by has them in stock.

Im considering getting the ARV's as well. How durable are they? Im around the same weight range as you and do they feel very soft?

They are very chattery at high speeds, but the absolutely KILL the soft snow. And like you said, they are very versatile.

check it... here's the scoop on the 08/09 ARV's. these skis are really sick. they are 13% stiffer than the previous years ARV's. they rip all over the mountain(light pow, chunder, groomers, park) the bases on these are a mixture of the comp series base(pipe cleaner base) and regular base making them super fast . the tips are a little softer than the tails which is awesome out of the park and the ski flexes like a powder ski should. this is the everything ski. word.

Hehe, that is exactly what I wanted to hear! I ordered a pair of ARV's in 185cm at the beginning of the week and have been wondering if I made the right choice. You sir, just made my day. +karmaa
