Arv94 vs poacher

I mainly ski park and the new ARV 94 looks sick but unfortunately I have some doubts on the durability due to their insanely light weight. Has anyone here tried them yet and able to tell me if their worth the price? Poachers are only 320$ rn so I’m thinking of just copping some ol’ reliables for next season.

Armada has been talking some big talk on improved durability, so it should be noticably better. I think Ski Essentials has a video review up already if that helps your concerns.

If the Jeffery 102 was too much ski for you to have fun with the poacher may not be that exciting to you.

What's op weight/skier type/average number of days? 178 at 1650 is not going to hold up compared to the poachers theoretically. IMO most of the companies that are using "updated durability" as marketing are stretchin for sure. Edollos seem much more durable and are pretty similar underfoot.

I’ve had poachers in the past and loved em. I just don’t ski enough outside of the park to justify having Jeffrey’s. I also thought they were super fun especially on butters, just am not a fan of how much rocker On3p skis have

175 lbs, type 3, 70+ days, West coast. My last skis were edollos and I loved how they skied but the sidewalls are make poorly for the 2023 model at least. Ik every other dollo they’ve made didn’t have sidewall problems so maybe the 2024 isn’t using that plastic sidewall?

I've skied both but I rode the Arv 96s back in 2017 and they might've changed the construction since then. They were decently soft, very fun skis. Can't recommend the poachers enough though. Unless you really want super light skis or really want super soft skis, then poachers are one of the best options. They often go on sale, they're often available, and they're widely acknowledged to be very durable, they're soft enough for most people to flex them but they're stiff enough to be stable for bigger jumps, riding outside the park, etc. Recommend both skis but personally prefer poachers

west coast skier who doesn't ski outside of the park. agh. i dislike these kinda people.

Also, jus ride all-mountain fun jibby skis that are 100-108 underfoot in the park, it's the way to go.

Also, ski less park and enjoy the entire mountain, it's not like you're in the Midwest

I have surface uppers for when I wanna fuck around/go outside of the park

its all about the boots. Skis dont matter anymore. You get a good pair of boots you can ski anything. Ik a bunch of full tilt rail hikers will downvote this but thats the truth.

I tried the new arvs at a demo day last season and they were so bad. They made them more like a comp ski so it was kinda like skiing on a stiff board with no energy. Maybe they’d be good in a pipe or only on jumps but I really didn’t like em.

Poachers won't disappoint you, heard some stories of the arv94 (prototypes) being pretty fun to ski on (mostly park) but snapping fairly quickly. That being said, I have any personal experience with the arv94..
