ARV vs MSP

you couldn't have picked to more different skis. msps are super stiff and baller as fuck. arvs are super noodly and pretty weak. do some more homework and come back with a different question.

what snowtrails just said is right on. ive got the msp's and they are pretty damn stiff. they ski great in everything except i dont think they're the best at park or rails. they're sick in the pipe though.

the reason i'm asking is cause i'm only 120, so if they msp's are super stiff they might not be such a fun ski for me

wtf is with the do some research bullshit...these are forums people ask questions that should be answered

regardless if your 120 you dont even need the smallest size of the msp. just get arv 165's. them bitches is softer and wider than the msp 170 (which you would probably get as a size if you bought it). unless your taller than like 5'3 i should be correct.

can anyone second this? i need to know how much they changed 'em from last year- i was hoping they'd make them much stiffer...

What they did with the ARV is moved the hardwoods from being the outside portion of the ski into the middle of the ski and then moved the soft woods next to the edge on the outside. Add carbon fiber from the middle of the ski back and you still have a relatively soft nose with some pop out of the tail. Ski'd the 08 ARV's at demo last spring and they blew me away! Never skied a F4rnt but the ARV's rock...

I'm 125 and have a 170 msp's pretty stiff ski good for almost everything. lil to stiff for my licking but overall not too bad

Torsional strength is way more important when you're talking about edge hold. The arv might be soft to the texas flex but don't fear balling it down the groomers unless you are on east coast bulletproof ice.

But the ARV does not have the rigity to perform well in crud. Meaning you are gonna get a lot of chatter and deflection at speed. IMO choose a stiffer ski if you plan to charge.
