ARV or Elizabeth

dunno about either really but people are gonna wanna know height/weight, location, and what kinda skiing you do/wanna do.

in a few years you will be, plus i dont think your parents will like paying $600 on skis when youre ten, just get a pair of AR3s or invaders

you are pretty big for a 10 year old but lizzies are still too much ski for you.  165 arv is the biggest ski you should be on.

Man if i was ten I would stick with the junior stuff. Its cheaper and made for your size, but its still good quality. Plus you'll probibly grow so you'll have to get new skis any ways.

Never mind I didn't read your second post. You're pretty big so chances are you could handle either the ARV or Elizabeth

when i was ten years old, skiers weren't even allowed to use their poles in the halfpipe at my mountain and 360's were still called helis. i didn''t even have the option for skis like these. damn i feel old. so yeah maybe a good ski would be the new rossi scratch bc for teens. it's still fat and it'll probably be cheaper cause you're gonna need new skis in a couple of years or so

elizabeths will kick ur ass cuz ur only 10 the arv 165 is probably the biggest you could ride i mean ur not going to need much float in powder or maybe you could get 169 vicious' but those still might be a little much for you

The Elizabeth is a park ski that works in powder. the ARV is an all around ski. Get the 165 ARV, the lizzies are too big and too long.

Kody your stupid. The Elizabeth's are way to big for you. They are a perfect size for me and Im 8 inches taller then you. You need to get a 160 at the biggest. They dont make Elizabeths that big. Whatever.

so basically you didnt take anyones advice. if you were so set on the lizzies whyd you even ask. good luck with those and hope there isnt a tree where they take you.

you dont need lizzies to make you float. their huge. their made for grown men to float.

AND....something that everyone missed on here, is that lizzies arnt exactly made for big mountain. at all. their made for powder. they turn and ski trees all in powder like a dream, but for what big mountain means...they are not big mountain skis. huge amount of cut on those skis. the ARV seems like to be a better fit. although, before someone slams me on my rag on elizabeths, i realize some peoples sayings of big moutain are diffrent than others. pick a ski with a waist around 90. your small, youll grow, and when your smaller, muscling around a big ski is...odly enough..hard work.

Go ahead and get the Lizzies, they'll most likely ski you though...if I were choosing a fat ski for a smaller rider, I'd look at these:

K2: The Seth 169, Nancy 159.

Line: Chronic Blend 165, Anthem 161, Celebrity 158.

Armada: ARV 165.

4FRNT: MSP 160.

Liberty: G-Note 163

Volkl: Aura 156 and 163, Karma 169.

I'm sure there are also other skis out there that would work for you, and don't think that just because some of those skis are made for women that you shouldn't consider them, remember that they make womens skis for lighter riders, and you're pretty damn light...don't go getting a ski that'll run your ass into the ground just cause you think it's a cool ski...like the Lizzie for example...it's an amazing ski, but it's not the right ski for you at this time, therefore, if you were to get it, it might look cool, but you probably would not be able to handle it, simply because you are small and it would be way to much ski for you. I'm not saying you're a bad skier either, but the best way to get hurt is to ski outside of your abilities, or to have a ski that is outside your abilities...give it time, Lizzies will still be around a couple years down the road, and you'll have way more fun on them when they are the right size ski for you. Peace.

The Lizzies are made to be park-only skis, it just so happens that they work for powder too.

If you notice pollard, who invented them, he skis on the lizzies only in the park and on prophets in powder and BC jumps.

Oh, and you are a dumbass, and not cool. stay off newschoolers till you grow up, stupid kid.

the lizzies arent a park ski that work for powder. i got em and i definitley never skied park with them. read the info on the line site and see what pollard designed them for. its not park.

I'm going to have to agree with mcleodm, the Elizabeth is not designed for park, not even close actually, it's designed to be a freestyle specific powder/BC ski...it's got a symetric flex, and super deep sidecut so it cas make really tight radius carves, and for carving off the lips of jumps...it's mostly a back-country booter ski, not for charging hard lines, not really for on-piste either, it's made to be a fun, soft ski for riding pow and hitting jumps off trail, the end.

He probably wouldn't run into trees cause the Lizzies turn so fast and easy, but like I said before, I still don't think that it's a good ski for him, or any 10 year old really.

no, it really is made for the park. honestly, that's what pollard designed it for. It does float well because its fat, but it is not meant at all to be a BC ski. I'm not saying it won't work well for that, but that's not what it was designed to do.

nooooooo it's not. it's designed for bc jibbing. that's why it's in the bc jibbing section of the line catalog. it's not designed to be a big mountain ski, i think that's what a lot of people confuse as backcountry. that's the prophet. they're sweet for playing around in the trees and jibbing around on small cliffs. they suck for park. sure, pollard rides them there, but it's eric fucking pollard. i've skied them. they're fun in pow, but way too soft for anything else. y'all are dummies if you honestly think they were designed for park.

I thought K2 had a fat junior ski for '08, maybe Im wrong, but either way swallow your pride and get a ski that fits you man, a ski thats way too big is just dangerous it doesnt make you any better.

you don't have to swallow your pride, you just have to be realistic. the only way you'll lose pride is by being laughed at for having a pair of hard to get skis when you're at least five years too young for them.

old threads are thuh shit. and ^ i'm pretty sure a 120 waist ski would be a bit much for a 10 year old.

get some ARV's, they are soft but stiff enough for your weight. they will float you like a lilly pad.
