Arv 96, worth remounting from center to - 2.5?

Got a deal on some barely used arv 96s with pivots. Gonna use this as my park ski, to complement my k108s.

They're mounted true center (for the right bsl), and after a short night ski session I'm not thrilled with how they feel on groomers, assuming it's the mount point.

Is it worth the $/weakening the ski to move them back to the rec line (-2.5)

K108s are at - 2.75 ish, pretty happy with them.

lol no dont do it

obv this is subjective but i'd say yeah sure go ahead and do it if it's bothering you

all you have to consider is the price and hassle of remounting, and the future for this ski. do you plan to remount them again in the future, or are you concerned with losing some resale value by putting a second set of holes in it? if not, do it up, right?

What’s the “issue” on groomers you think? If they aren’t super stable or too stuck in a turn, the base might not be flat. A base high ski feels like it’s on marbles and an edge high ski feels like it’s hard to get in/out of a turn. Twin tips are commonly base high so maybe try a base grind and reset the edges and see what they are like.

If still unstable, move the binding back.

0% chance I'm going to resell these skis (unless I start doing drugs again). Mostly worried about wasting $ and weakening the ski.

Hard to say why they felt weird, I guess unstable and i had to stand too upright.

Honestly will probably ride 75% Park on these, but my rail game is not super technical, so I more a big jumps guy .

Probably give them another real day and if they still feel jankey remount.

I remember being told the rule of thumb was after 3 mounts you can start to worry. A second mount is no issue. This is based on hearsay entirely.

Also I personally don’t enjoy the feeling of a centre mount. And 96s aren’t symmetrical right? Probably feel more stable and intuitive where they’re designed to be ridden. I’d say probably worth it. Then they’d be closer in position to the K108 anyways and could be easier to switch between.

Ended up moving them, 100% worth it. Way more stable, barely notice the difference on spins or rails.

Center mounting skis with rocker is dumb.
