Art Skills: Do you gotta be born with them?

Has anyone that use to be the anti-Bob Ross developed your skills to a near professional level?

i have taking drawing/art classes for 7 years and i am just getting good... so no you dont have to be born with art skills. yeah it helps. but you can overcome being bad by practice...

Nah, you don't have to be born with them, it just helps a shtiload.

There are different artistic skills. Myself, I can't draw, paint or carve for shit but give me a camera and I'll get you a $20,000 photo.

no most people that are "born" with them suck like evreyone and else jsut practice so much and then when asked, they say "o it just came naturally" You definitly can be born with them but no, it is not necessary at all.

well peoples brains fire differently and you can certaintly have an artists mind. like think about what lines make up different things. and notice colors and whatnot. i dont know, im not an artist, but im pretty good at drawing

for like drawing shit then you can learn. but for like photo graphy then you need to be born widdit

One of my favorite quotes could actually answer that question.

"There are 10,000 bad drawings inside each of us..."

Can't remember the rest atm, but it basically says anyone can become a skilled artist just a matter of how bad you want it.

Also not everyone is creative, or imaginative, so that will play into how well you can eventually be able to visualize something and then turn it into a work of art, but yeh anyone can draw.

its a mixture of both your born with the imagination an thats key but to get the skills down pat you need schooling
