Army- Yes-no?

that's not at all what i said, or what i meant.
What i mean is that if people volunteer to go over, people like me, who don't volunteer, won't have to. If i had to go, i would, i've even considered voluntarily joining. Thats part of what makes joining an admirable, respectable thing to do, the fact that someone else is making a sacrifice so i don't have to. I'm fine with the draft, i just think it's better to have volunteers.
and you're probably another one of those people who wouldn't be affected by the draft anyways, so you could probably care less. If you are over 18, my bad, i apologize. But I just don't think people who could be affected by a draft should say shit about it and people not wanting to go.

If you were actually educated on the topic it would help...There is thousands of jobs in the military, most involve zero to little risk to your life. At least no more risk than someone working in a factory with heavy machinery or a worker in a chemical plant.
And i would hope there isn't a person out that that watched the commercial and said wow that looks fun and ran out and signed up without doing any research.
Is it for everyone absolutely not but it is a hell of a challenge and very rewarding i have yet to regret it even for a second.
That being said i would never tell or try and persuade anyone to join without being fully behind it. It is a huge decision and should be made for yourself I can tell you of my experiences and tel you what it may be like but ultimately it has to be that persons decision that is why i disagree with some recruiters tactics

go to school and be a pilot or something. that'd be a sweet deal. once you get out of the army you can be a commercial pilot too. i've always wanted to fly, but when i applied to military college they bailed on me because i had a broken collerbone thanks to skiing. bastards would rather have a bunch of inactive douchebags training with em i guess.. pissed me right off. 'sorry, you'll have to apply again next year'. even after passing the qualifying tests with flying colors.
but anyways dont just join the army because you like guns and want to kill 'bad guys'. you'll just end up getting yourself, or worse yet, somebody else killed.
if your mindset is 'i want to make a difference', be a doctor. go to a 3rd world country and provide medical aid to those in dire need. lots of people throw that phrase around, but not very many truly mean it. it seems like an excuse to justify going to war.
it all depends on the kind of person you are. are you the kind who genuinely wants to help others, or are you looking for self-gratification?

Haha my mom was trippin balls because when I turned 17 the army started sending me tons of shit trying to recruit me, AND I shave my head and love MMA so she thought I'd be the type to join so she would throw every army thing she found away/or hide it, so I wouldnt be tempted to join.
Personally I know 3 people in the army, 1 joined because his dad was in the army and wanted him to join, the other joined because he thought it was "his duty", and another joined because his life was turned to shit after attempting to run away to Florida after being suspended for having porn on his iPod.

fuck that shit. if your gonna join any of that shit, join the air force. at least there you dont get shot at. or you could just go to college like basically everyone else. even community college is better than the army or air force. you dont get shot at, you can have a GIRLfriend, and you can set yourself up for the future. so yeaaa
