Alroght heres the deal, im interested in going into the army cuz its something that realy intests me. I dont know i i should do it cuz of all the shits thats going on. My dad says go for it and my mom says she will never talk to me again. wtf should i do.

You are asking people on newschoolers who don't even know you what YOU should do with the rest of your life. Figure it out yourself it's your fucking life man. sounds harsh but seriously, why the fuck would you ask a bunch of teenagers who don't know you at all?

Goddamn, what is the world coming to.

your DAD WANTS you to go to the ARMY????? thats a bit weird......... umm but in my opinion dont go. there shouldnt even be troops out there.

i dont know, theres not many ipods to steal over in iraq so you might be a little bored, you fucking piece of shit. Please join the army and make sure to get yourself killed, if nobody in the states beats them to it.

your gonna do it to the wrong person one time and then your gonna be dead

I wouldn't join. My cousin joined the army and he regrets it quite a bit. He hates Iraq, has almost been killed numerous times, and doesn't have anything to show for it. He can't wait to get out and says when he looks back he would have never joined if he knew what it would actually be like.

Not only that, think about all the stress it will cause for your family and friends if you get sent to Iraq. You're mom is smart in wanting you not to go because she doesn't want you to risk your life, especially for something that probably isn't the worlds best cause. If you want to help your country there are other things you can do which can help in more effective ways.

unless you want to put undue amounts of stress and fear upon yourself and your family and/or die, dont join the fucking army. joining the army is volunteering to go into a war zone and get shot at for virtually nothing in return. do you love america that much? and if it came to it (and it probably will) could you shoot somebody?

dont fuck up your life. this war is pointless, dont be a part of it. go to college and be productive, not a tool of the government

It's more of a personal opinion, not so much a "hey everyones joining the army, the commercials say I'll be strong, so I should go!"

That being said, if it comes down to a draft I'll go, but I don't think I'm going to volunteer.

do it. that shit would be fun, you get to visit crazy places, unpredicatable shit. and i think that the middle easy batle should be over by then, best be at least. and you'll be well prepared for the future

which is why he should go. He steals peoples ipods then braggs about it on this website. Fuck him

lol

But seriously, what is it that interests you about the army?

Shooting big guns? Camping? Exploring new places? You can do that shit elsewhere and you don't have to kill strangers or even risk being killed by them.

Defending the USA? Join the national guard in that cause (they might be in iraq too though, i dunno). Cause youre not defending the US in Iraq (or Iran).

Don't let the money influence you cause if thats the motivation you're basically selling yourself into slavery.

The Coast Guard is a good option.

My Uncle is a cutter captain, after enlisting at the bottom initially, and he lives in Hawaii now.

Depends on how you feel about being at sea though. They're normally relatively close to shore though.

N OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

ur a member of newschoolers, so i take it that u like to ski

so if u want to ski, don't join the army

the drill sergeant isn't gonna give two shits if ur late to muster cause u were gazin at skiing magazines while eatin ur mornin grub

there are times when u take ur mom's advice, this is one of them

would sum1 fill me in on this ipod stealin shit

another good reason not to join the army, if ur a sheisty lil bastard that steals ipods, ur gonna have a sore asshole at some point or another, cause ur a bitch, and dudes get horny, and when thats all they have, sum just cant stick their dicks anywhere else

sorry, that was dick, but seriously, u've got a future, u dont need the fuckin army, navy, coast guard, or any other force to prove that to u or make that for u

just go to school, wherever u can, and get good grades

good grades = good grades = a life that is a hell of a lot easier to manage

army = bullets = death = ur fam cryin over ur grave

They actually had a little snow in Baghdad pretty recently.

As far as the army goes, that's all your decision. Do the research and talk to people both in and out of the army--try your best to filter out all the bullshit, because there will be a lot. Something like that is a choice you make yourself, but please consider the people around you.

I personally would never join the army. I can't imagine putting myself in a position where I'd have to kill someone. That thought is just horrible. If you want to join the armed forces, at least do something where you won't see any action, like the navy.

i don't think i would be able to shoot someone in the face or at all either. i mean some people deserve to die, but killing on such a mass scale such as in Iraq is so wrong - there are so many innocent civilians who die just because they are in the wrong place at the wrong time - could you imagine doing something like that?

it just sickens me - war.

veterans get shit, if you expect to be compensated evenly, then you are in for one hell of a ride. video games look cool and stuff, but theirs no restart button in rl. if you're still really interested in joining the armed forces, do something like intelligence or air force.

yeah, in the thread about how to make 200$ in one week grman said this

"

honesty steal shit like ipods from kids at school and sell them for 25-45 $ i made 600 from tht"

actually, you've gotta watch out with that too. i know some people in both the coast guard and navy who have actually been assigned shore duty, and basically act as if they are a regular army soldier. Same with air force, regardless of what you join, you might end up on the ground fighting.

it all comes down to what type of person you are though, some are obviously not cut out for the military. If you're like most newschoolers, (a lazy stoner who exercises by skiing) then odds are it's not for you. but you never know, there are definitely people who's lives have changed for the better by joining

I wouldn't take advice from people on this site for a start. First reason- most of them are ignorant. Second- No one here appreciates that they don't have to serve because people like you are good enough to do it for them. I don't care what everyone thinks about war, don't insult the people that volunteer and keep you from having to fight. I am proud of the military. I would recommend the Air Force however. There are many more job opportunities there that can be easily carried over into the civilian world later. Not only that, but you can get some free college out of it too.

sorry, just want to keep this thread alive, i think i was postin all yesterday intoxicated, and i really want to stress not going to the armed forces

if they need ppl, they'll draft, simple as that

you must not be over 18.

because I am, and personally, i'd rather have people volunteer to go over than to have them draft people who don't want to go over, like me. If i was drafted, i'd definitely go, and who knows, maybe it would be great for me, but i'm not going in voluntarily.

Kinda lends more credence to the "our planet is fucked" side if you actually stop and think. They only got a brief flurry of flakes, no accumulation, but first time in 100 years or so.

Alright, I'll give you my thoughts

first you need to know that I come from a Family with a decent history with the armed forces (5 uncles, both grandfathers) but no one in my generation yet, and I also have a lot of friends in the armed forces, some getting ready to go over to the sandbox right now.

This is what I'm going to say, first of do not base your decision on the War in Iraqi, Honestly it pisses me off all these people who say , "well don't join because think the war in Iraqi is wrong", congratulations, pat yourself on the back, you just fall in with a lot of other people who currently can not comprehend the fact that wars come and go and todays Iraqi might be tomorrow's Darfur. I'm not going to get into a debate on the war I'm just trying to tell you to not make your diccision to join by what is currently happening.

Second, If you feel strong enough about it, your mom should understand that and support your decision.

Third, I have a question for you, What is making you want to join so bad? What is the reason you want to sign your life to the government, and what branch are you looking into?

The main problem is that people don't fully understand what the armed forces is all about, they can take so many people becuase they break you down and rebuild you from square one to be someone else. You always here parents saying that their kids change when they go off to boot camp, well it's true, they do, and usualy they change for the better.

Finally, I forget if your were going to do direct enlist but if you want to get your education before you go, look into ROTC, you can go through college, get your degree, and then you spend your years with the armed forces.

Whatever your decision - it has to be yours and from your heart and head. Don't let other sway what you truly want to do, the military is not an easy thing to do and it is not an easy thing to comprehend unless you have either experienced it or have family members who can tell relate these things to you (although you still will not fully understand them) I personally know that I do not fully understand it and that the only way I can fully understand it is to sign up and go find out for myself.

Yeah, it was long, but if you read it, I think that it might help you.

I mean im in the Air National Guard right now...I did alot of research into and its def the best option. I go once a month and i work on KC135s and F16s in the NDI lab basically its non destructive testing such as ultra sound, x ray, mag particle, and penetrant inspection. Its really interesting and in the civilian world my job starts at about $90k a year and goes upward. I received a $20,000 signing bonus a nearly free education at The Ohio State University, and each month I am in school i receive $800 a month tax free for 4 years. Best part is I only go in 2 days a month i will never be issued a weapon i will never deploy to a combat zone and I live in my hometown and continue to lead a normal life and it has never affected my skiing.

So I would say if your not sure join the Guard first give it a try and if you love the lifestyle you can activate yourself. Its not for everybody and there is different levels of service if you are gung ho on fighting and being a hero the air national guard probly isn't your cup o tea. But for people like me that want a new challenge a chance to travel a bit for free( I leave for Guam for a month in may with a stop off in Hawaii for 2 days on the way there and back Its basically like getting paid to go on vacation.) and get their college paid for its definitely a good option

i would not do it. dont get suckered in by the army commercials, its not all fun and games. if you get sent to war you have a good chance of dying.
